Job Description : Paralegal – Full-time/part-time – Anchorage
Engaging position for motivated individual.
Well established Anchorage immigration and civil litigation firm needs a diligent and self-motivated paralegal. A dedicated, reliable person who feels comfortable being partly self-guided in their work is the perfect fit. We do ask for competence and comfort with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Adobe, and Excel. A typing speed of 50 words per minute or higher is preferred. We will highly value any individual who is bi-lingual and especially if they are proficient in Spanish. We are willing to train most skills for the right person of they are a newer paralegal. Paralegal will help to meticulously maintain up-to date files on individual matters, conduct research, draft letters/pleadings/motions and other documents, drafting correspondence, meet with a and correspond regularly with clients, monitor compliance, and investigate facts and background. Must have excellent interpersonal skills, and a sense of pride and importance concerning your work product. You also should enjoy working in a small office where we all get to know and care for each other. Must pass background check, as honesty, responsibility, and motivation are highly valued. Must be excellent at typing and possess excellent grammar/writing skills. An eye for detail is also highly valued. Qualifications
Experience:

Two years (or more) of experience working as a paralegal is preferred but not required. (Preferred)

Education:

High School Diploma or Equivalent (required)

Associates (Preferred)

Bachelors or equivalent (preferred)

Four-year paralegal degree (highly preferred)

Skills and qualifications

Familiarity with legal research
Familiarity with drafting legal documents
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Self-motivated and self-guided
Bi-lingual (highly preferred and will result in pay bump)
Ability to problem solve and find solutions to complex problems
Proficiency in Adobe, Excel, and Word. Also prefer some experience with client management software
Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner

Job Duties

Drafting and preparing legal documents
Conduct research to support legal proceedings
Investigate facts to help in the negotiation of legal disputes
Monitor and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
Record and store client information
Organizing exhibits and paper files
Filing court documents
Client and customer service
We can train you how to do most everything if you bring a good attitude.

Applicants must be detail oriented, creative, punctual, self-disciplined, responsible, and reliable.
Hours of Operation: Monday – Thursday 9:00 am – 5:00. Friday 9:00 am to 12:00 pm (noon) (however for the right candidate we can be flexible with your schedule and your outside needs and obligations).
Pay: Dependent on Experience and status as bi-lingual
