Position : Quality Technician (Packaging)

Job Description : Packaging Quality Technician (GMP experience)Purpose of this Position: Support the successful execution of Streamline Polymers’ Company Goals and Core Values by inspecting products and materials throughout the manufacturing process and ensuring compliance with Quality standards/procedures in order to meet customer/regulatory and company requirements.Desired Results:

Work closely with the Packaging team to achieve quality goals and continuously improve quality systems and compliance.
Achieve 100% cGMP, ISO9001 and Company QA compliance.
Partner with Quality Director and other internal partners to deliver exceptional quality focus and results and create a culture of compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform pre-operation checks with production and packaging.
Perform daily finished product evaluation and data gathering.
Collect samples, monitor, and properly dispose of product that is out of specification.
Perform random checks on finished products, verifying weight, absence of foreign objects and correct packaging lot numbers/expiration dates during production and packing.
Monitor and audit documentation relating to product and material quality.
Assist with customer and regulatory audits to ensure FDA/GMP compliance and to provide basis for continuous improvement.
Work closely with production/packaging teams to trouble-shoot quality issues.
Work with Quality team to conduct investigations regarding non-conforming materials and products.
Assist with corrective action and process improvement activities regarding product quality and assist in appropriate re-training.
Issue release of processed materials.
Conducts Housekeeping audits in accordance with written procedures.
Identify and advise on opportunities to improve quality systems.
Work with Quality team to resolve quality-related issues in a timely manner.
Report problems or concerns to management immediately.
Adjust priorities when appropriate and perform other duties assigned to meet team goals.

Traits, Skills & Competencies Required: Education

BA/BS degree preferred
A minimum of a High School diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent required.

Experience

A minimum of 1 year of Quality Assurance experience in a cGMP packaging environment is required

Possess the ability to build positive relationships with coworkers at all levels, customers, suppliers, and the general public.
Handle multiple assignments, develop work plans, & prioritize.
Deadlines must be met and the ability to handle multiple priorities at the same time is key.
Ability to utilize a variety of techniques to assess root cause and solve problems.
Good computer skills required, proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) preferred.
Must have excellent command of the English language.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:

The physical demands and work environment described herein is a representative of those that generally must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
Exposure to various chemicals.
Willing and able to work in a hot, cold, and noisy industrial environment
Willing and able to wear the necessary Personal Protection equipment (PPE) (i.e., hard hats, safety glasses, hair/beard net, face mask, gloves, steel-toe boots or safety shoes and other PPE required by specific jobs)
Ability to work in a standing position for the much of the shift with frequent walking. Position may require repeated reaching, stooping, crawling, bending, and crouching.
Required to write, type and/or operate a computer and other office productivity machinery for extended periods of time.
Must have close visual acuity to perform activities such as: inspecting products and materials; preparing and analyzing data and/or documents; viewing a computer screen and/or extensive reading.
This position also involves standing, walking, twisting, reaching, bending/stooping, pushing, and pulling (maximum weight of 100 lbs., approximately), and lifting (maximum weight of 50 lbs., approximately)
The position requires hearing and talking on the phone, two-way radios and in person.
Must be able to continuously deal effectively with stress created by multiple tasks, noises, interruptions, and work cooperatively as part of team while maintaining a pleasant attitude.
