John Hall’s Alaska is growing and expanding! Hiring for Cruise Representative for the 2022 season. Knowledge or experience of traveling Alaska is requested, and experience in hospitality and tourism preferred. Travel is required 100% of the time. Position is available from June 1 – September 15th.
Cruise Manager Job Description
JHA Cruise Representative will serve as a representative of John Hall’s Alaska at all times while onboard southeast Alaska partnerships and in port cities.
JHA Cruise Representative serves as representation of the organization to the Cruise Line. Professional behavior and courtesy must be demonstrated at all times.
JHA Cruise Representative serves as a liaison between the John Hall’s Alaska guests and the appropriate Alaska partners and staff. The prime focus of the individualis to ensure the needs of the guests are met and all questions are answered.
Cruise Representative should always be dressed professional or business casual. Refrain from blue jeans unless necessary or traveling in port city; John Hall’s Alaska nametag is to be worn at all times with the exception of when visiting port city.
Assist guests in questions, concerns and any problems while onboard the vessels.
Coordinate activities, meals and recommendations of how to best use time available in port cities while working with JHA Director of Tour Operations.
Partner with vessels to coordinate dining times or changes, embarkations and disembarkations arrangements for guests or special events.
Most importantly: Go above and beyond. John Hall’s Alaska is in business to exceed the customers’ expectations. Use every resource necessary and possible to try to meet guests’ needs.
John Hall’s Alaska will provide travel expenses for employees however any additional unnecessary products or services purchased are the financial responsibility of the employee.
Cruise Representatives are required to complete a signed gratuity reporting form after each tour; to be reported with payroll biweekly.
Communicate challenges and issues to the Director of Tour operations and Chief Operating Officer as necessary in a timely manner.
Position Requirements * High school graduate.
Organized and have attention to detail.
Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks and projects at one time.
Ability to prioritize work making sure all deadlines and guest requests are met.
Ability to complete tour documentation and paperwork; keep accurate expense report; file paperwork timely.
Punctual and reliable to work independently.
Ability to work in a team environment with John Hall’s Alaska colleagues, cruiseline staff, and partners across Alaska.
Ability to lift loads over 20 pounds, and utilize teamwork for heavier loads.
Clear communication skills and ability to provide leadership to guests.
Knowledge of Alaska.
Hospitality service experience required.
Job Types: Full-time, Temporary
Pay: From $200.00 per day

Monday to Friday
Weekend availability
