Position: Fish & Wildlife Technician – Seasonal
Location: McGrath, AK
Reports To: General Manager
Position Summary:
McGrath Light & Power (ML&P) is recruiting for a Seasonal Fish & Wildlife Technician to participating in the collection of biological data as part of large-scale salmon research and monitoring initiatives. This position is expected to last from Mid-June to Mid-August.
Essential Functions:

Identify and count all five Pacific salmon species
Identify and collect scales, length, and sex data from Chinook salmon
Operate and maintain river skiffs mounted with outboard motors
Collect and enter data in Microsoft Excel and/or Google Docs
Communicate daily the weather, fish passage, and sampling data to project leader
General camp and equipment maintenance

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED.
Three month’s entry level experience as a Fish and Wildlife Technician or ability and desire to learn.
Three months of work experience involving fish or wildlife, or outdoor manual labor.
