SUMMARY: As a part of its commitment to innovate and increase operational efficiency, all staff members of Human Resources are expected to: deliver impeccable customer service; ensure speedy and accurate turnaround of all human resources transactions; and work as a cross-trained, flexible and cohesive team. The Human Resources Technician is a crucial member of the Human Resources team, working closely with department leadership on the development of new and revised policies and procedures for the overall function of the department and services to staff. They are expected to exercise independent judgment and may be consulted to interpret Board policy or state or federal guidelines related to their area of work. They will manage key staff support and provide metrics as it relates to accuracy, efficiency, and customer service. This is a dynamic opportunity to have a lasting impact on the way Highline Public Schools serves its staff, students and community.

Portfolio: Employee Services: Employee Relations The HR Technician assigned to this portfolio provides customer service and technical assistance around labor relations, leaves, workers compensation, random drug testing and ADA processes. Key stakeholders include current staff and community partners and vendors. This portfolio supports confidential processes such as grievances and investigation documentation and tracking; coordination of random drug testing; medical leaves and ADA documentation, approvals and correspondence with medical providers; processing of workers compensation claims; and other similarly sensitive human resources processes. The key responsibility of thisrole is to ensure the efficient function of employee relation through data analysis and dynamic customer service.
