Job Summary:

This leader will be part of the team responsible for the design, adoption, and execution of the enterprise-wide lean transformation within the USCAN Strategic Region Unit. They will be focused on and partnered with one of the leaders in the business for their scope of responsibility. The Lean Leader will possess hands-on experience applying Lean/driving results through continuous improvement and will be a contributing leader to the overall financials of the business unit she/he will partner with.

Job responsibilities:

With business partner(s), co-own and support development of Continuous Improvement (CI) Roadmap and execution plan to drive business results. Roadmap will identify:

Identify major processes and who owns them
Prioritized improvement opportunities, impact, approach, methods, tools and timing to maximize business impact and stakeholder participation.
Utilize appropriate lean tools to execute the CI Plan

Drive the execution of kaizens and lean events to deliver on the CI plan

Co-own event charter, metrics, scope, required pre-work and event execution plan
Execute effective events
Support post event plan execution and activities as required
Co-own process health check-ins to assist and support leaders in the initial phases of change: Improvements are sustained, and Leader is building a culture of continuous improvement, exposing new and impactful opportunities

Establish and execute a roadmap to build, implement and measure Standard Work (SW) across all business partner’s processes

Define and prioritize processes and owners
Leverage kaizen to establish and document standard work
Train teams on standard work and define KPIs that demonstrate process health

Establish and drive sustainment of Daily Management across the business partner’s processes

The Monthly Operating Review (MOR) is the capstone every month to our Daily Management; this needs to be a highly effective review of most important KPIs and our progress in their improvement. The Lean Leader is the process owner for this meeting.
Build and implement Daily Management from genba to the MOR with a coherent set of KPIs tied to the above standard work
Ensure proper training and coaching for effective daily management and a true “embrace the red” culture.

Support key Problem Solving efforts and drive team skill development on Problem Solving

Lean Leader needs to be a highly effective coach at root cause problem solving
Building good problem solving skills across the business is a high priority
Ensure there is focus on follow-through of identified countermeasures

Support Hoshin Kanri Improvement Priorities as necessary (if there is any)
Coach and develop business partner and direct reports as lean leaders

Build core skillsets
Drive continuous improvement mindset

Desired Experience:

5-10 years of experience leading teams (Supply Chain/Operations)
5-10 years of hands-on experience applying Lean/driving results through continuous improvement
Experience applying and coaching the Toyota Production System (Takt, Continuous Flow, Pull Systems)
Proven ability to coach/influence cross-functional teams
Prior direct experience with driving Lean culture/behavior transformation: office, service, manufacturing
Coaching experiences with world-class consulting: Shingijutsu, Shingo Prize, etc.
Led many Kaizen events from Pre-work/Event/Closure.
Coached teams thru the kaizen/PDCA approach
GE: Completion of OMLP, EEDP, CLP, XLP or other Leadership Program

The salary range for this position is $131,200-$196,800. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus. Available benefits include health, welfare, retirement and paid leave.
