Originally founded in 1927, Overlake has rich history on the Eastside, with our most recent Clubhouse remodel in 2017 to best meet the needs of our thriving Club. The Front Desk Attendant is responsible for creating the first and last impressions of the club experience for the Members by providing all Warm Welcomes, Magic Moments and Fond Farewells. Reports directly to the Clubhouse Manager.
Success in this role starts with a person with deep satisfaction for customer service. Known as an exemplary team member with strong leadership, communication, and customer service skills. They are a problem-solver with strong work ethic and leadership skills.
PAY STRUCTURE & BENEFITS
The pay range for this position is currently $21.00 to $25.00 per hour and is evaluated periodically to be commensurate with market conditions. The benefits for this position include:

Health insurance premium paid (medical, dental, vision, basic life) minus the existing employee contribution (currently $110.00/month) per Club policy. Should the Club change its insurance plan, you will enjoy the same benefits and program as all full-time regular employees.
Offer of participation in the Club’s matching 401(k) plan when you become eligible.
Participation in the member-sponsored Club Christmas bonus pool.
Vacation, holidays, and other paid time off per the Employee Handbook.

PERSONAL TRAITS
Must be people-oriented, service minded, and have good communication skills; naturally exude a warm welcome; computer literate, perform required clerical duties with some multi-tasking while managing the telephone console, in a pleasing and efficient manner. Must be able to work weekends and holidays. He/she will present themselves in a pleasant demeanor and will be hard-wired for service and the warm hospitality embrace.
WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
A Country Club is a unique environment that contains several micro-environments and working conditions. In order to be successful in this position, the following conditions may be encountered:

Standing for long periods of time on a variety of surfaces.
Sitting at computer workstation for potentially long periods of time.

EXPERIEINCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, EDUCATION, & TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
To be successful in this position the following experience, education, knowledge, skills, abilities, education, and training — or their equivalents — are required:

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
Customer service experience required.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
The ability to think on your feet and take initiative.
Certification in CPR, First Aid and AED.
Administrative ability and IT literacy.
An appreciation of customer expectations.
Ability to work under pressure.
Organized with strong work ethics.
Flexibility and the ability to solve problems in a fast-paced environment.
Customer-facing experience.
Experience in improving service delivery.
Able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES, TASKS, AND RESPONSIBILITIES
At Overlake Golf & Country Club, ALL employees share the same core duties, tasks, and responsibilities and are embodied in our Service Standards. More specifically, here are the essential duties, tasks, and responsibilities of the Front Desk Attendant position:

Ensure that all Members and Guest are greeted with a warm welcome and that all Members are addressed by name.
Remain at the Front Desk during the scheduled work shift, except during break times, relief at the Service Desk, or other duties that may require you to attend to a task while remaining in close proximity to the desk. Answer telephones promptly and courteously and direct all calls to the appropriate areas.
Must be knowledgeable of the following as applicable: Golf activities, Athletic activities, Dining activities, Club events and Private Member events and all upcoming Club events and specials.
Connect Members with other Members through ongoing contact through the promotion of club activities.
Answer telephones and process dining and event reservations, changes and cancellations, and confirmations, with care and accuracy according to established procedures.
Create personalized service for Members and guests.
To promote the facility amenities, programs and the Club while maintaining a high level of professionalism and service that aligns with the values, philosophies and standards of Overlake Golf and Country Club.
Perform close of business functions following guidelines and procedures established by the Club.
Receive, sort and distribute incoming mail.
Responsible for seeing that daily assignments are completed in their respective areas, to meet Club standards and as communicated (i.e. orderly/organized work areas, straighten/arrange entry area, straightening/stocking of back office, etc.).
Assist fellow Employees, Members, and guests to ensure delivery of the Overlake Service Standards without being directed. Be aware of team members and the environment and participate as a member of the team.
Notify supervisor of Member/Guest complaints at the time they occur. Rectify, practicing service recovery, any complaints as soon as possible.
Be mindful of our goal in providing absolutely the best in service and hospitality to our members and guests. Anticipate their needs, before they have to ask.
Because of the fluctuating demands of the Clubs operation, it may be necessary that each Employee perform a multitude of different functions therefore, as an essential part of your job, you will be expected to help others when the occasion arises, just as other Employees are expected to help you. Accordingly, you may be expected to perform other tasks as needed or as directed.
Adhere to all of the Club and department written mandatory standards of operations, policies and procedures, manuals, memos, oral instructions, etc., all of which go to make up the essential functions of the job.
Ability to communicate effectively with proper grammar.
Ability to work well under pressure, coordinating multiple tasks at any given time.
Ability to focus attention on detail.
Responsible for maintaining good conduct and safe working habits while in all areas.
