Position : Packaging Manager

Job Summary: Position Summary: The primary focus of this role is to lead a high-quality team to ensure the efficient packaging of our Zerega/PMC. This position oversees and directs all packaging operations, has day-to-day team oversight, and coordinates with staff to ensure timely packaging and delivery of our products.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Manage the packaging team supervisors and leads.
Coordinate daily production with the planning and warehouse & material flow departments.
Work with operations leadership to develop and adhere to safety, quality, efficiency, and profitability procedures.
Ability to work hands-on as an operator in any part of the packaging process and step in as necessary.
Ensure all safety standards are being followed at all times and work on regulatory compliance with the EHS manager.
Work with the maintenance team to ensure preventative maintenance is being completed and help troubleshoot equipment-related issues.
Actively support the development of all team members; coach and mentor supervisors and team leads to inspire exceptional leadership and job performance.
Collaborate with the Plant Manager to establish effective KPIs and operational objectives that drive and maintain improvement.
Recognize and act on opportunities to improve safety, product quality, food safety, cost, productivity, and employee engagement.
Promote the use of continuous improvement methodology, including root cause analysis, problem & resolution, and verification & validation audits.
Work to minimize waste.
Responsible for training, scheduling, hiring, and developing the packaging team members. Approve time-off requests and timecards.
Work with the human resources team on employee relations issues and ensure the packaging team is compliant with company policies, safety guidelines, SOPs, and GMPs.
Willing and able to work flexible hours as necessary to achieve goals.
Experience:
5-7 years in a management role in a production environment
Previous experience in a production environment
Strong leadership skills and management experience
Working Knowledge of a Union Environment.
Organizational skills and ability to make long-range plans and goals
Ability to interact professionally and effectively with employees
Experience in a fast-paced work environment and the ability to multitask
The ability to make decisions quickly and adapt; flexibility is key
Strong reasoning ability and problem-solving skills
Bi-lingual in English and Spanish is a plus
At least three years of supervisory experience highly preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of standing and walking through the factory.
Must be able to lift 25 pounds at times.
Visual acuity to inspect products and machinery.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Up to $110,000.00 per year
