Legal and Compliance
The Legal and Compliance Division assists Morgan Stanley in achieving its business objectives in a manner consistent with the Firm?s core values and Global Risk Management Principles, by facilitating and overseeing the Firm?s management of legal, regulatory and franchise risk. Legal & Compliance division is supported by Global Compliance, Global Financial Crimes, Legal & Regulatory Relations departments.
Team Background
The LCDCoE COO is responsible for strategic and centralized management of Legal and Compliance division setup in India Global Centers (GC). Core responsibilities include but are not limited to ?
? Work closely with LCDCoE India Head and Global LCD COO Office for executing India GC and Global LCD initiatives within LCDCoE
? Budgeting and cost management by working closely with Global LCD COO office
? Transition management / Adhoc Project management
? Management of workplace and infrastructure by collaborating with India Technology and Corporate Services team
? Business Resiliency planning and execution & Testing
Role will directly report to the LCDCoE COO and will be required to execute above mentioned day to day COO support activities along with leading some of the India GC / Global LCD initiatives across LCDCoE.
Job Profile
? Talent Strategy – Tracking of people metrics at regular intervals and drive the execution of the talent strategy in areas of recruitment, performance, development and culture building and retention
? Governance, Risk and Control – Preparing MIS on key metrics related to attrition, headcount and costs and ensure reporting of LCDCoE metrics at a regular frequency. Record progress and summarize developments on key initiatives and support implementation of BCP Strategy for LCDCoE
? Workplace and Infrastructure – Interim space planning for business, automate seat management and engage with IT & CS on infra requirements across LCDCoE
? Budgeting and Cost Management – Maintenance of budget & financials, reconcile actuals against budget and expenses
? MIS/reporting/dashboards ? Ownership of creating monthly/quarterly packs such as COO, Risk and Open Forum including LCD GC and India GC packs, metrics for senior management and Global stakeholders. Create adhoc reports, data analysis as required by stakeholders. Coordinate with LCDCoE leads/SPOCs for data input
? Industry/competitor/Peer Analysis – Create and maintain collateral for talent, workplace, location and trends. Networking in required forum to produce comparison matrix
? Meetings/Engagements – Facilitate annual offsite planning session, tracking and maintaining business goals, attend India GC COO meetings as proxy for LCDCoE COO (as required). Manage internal and external communication and suggest best practices for communication
? Strategic Thinking – Facilitate alignment of LCDCoE strategy with the overall GC Strategy and synthesize information from LCDCoE metrics and pull together trends, insights and key decision points for the Leadership. Evaluate, justify and implement suitable strategic options that impact business. Understanding of client needs and business goals to make timely recommendations and drives the overall implementation of business strategy through stakeholders/management.
? Stakeholder Management – Actively promote sharing of information and collaboration across the Firm. Build consensus for a win-win situation to maximize value proposition for its stake holders
? Analysing and Presenting Data – Maintain a high-level view of a situation, identifying the key elements while keeping an overview of the detail and analyse both tangible and intangible information and data to develop critical insights
? Execution Excellence – Plan, coordinate and manage internal and external resources to accomplish assignments within the given deadlines. Participate/lead ad-hoc projects as required
? Creative content ? Applying creative content writing and designing while preparing PowerPoint presentations for management meetings
Skill Set
Required
? Ability to deep dive into data and extract meaningful analysis for mid/senior management presentations. Strong analytical and MS PowerPoint skills to translate raw text/data into an effective and insightful representation, with adherence to Morgan Stanley brand guidelines on usage of colours, logo, shades and templates.
? Possess excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills with a proven ability to build solid relationships with global, regional and local stakeholders
? Strong team player and at the same time takes ownership to drive strategic objectives
? Should be able to not only conceptualise and drive initiatives but also be willing to get into details
? Adaptable and creative approach to address issues and solve problem
? Should be able to develop and maintain an understanding of different approaches to stakeholder management and be able to make an informed recommendation about which approach to use to maximum effect

QUALIFICATIONS
Qualifications/Criterion
? Bachelor?s / Post Graduate Degree
? 6 to 8 years? experience in Business Management role
Coverage
? Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM India time with flexibility on standard working hours for time sensitive matters (including India Public Holidays).
? Periodic evening calls with stakeholders
