Job Description : Duties
Makes repairs that can be accomplished by removing, cleaning, replacing, packing and sealing defective items. Performs minor repair work such as replacing plugs on electrical cords, burners on ranges, etc. All electrical work will be performed while the unit is disconnected. Performs minor carpentry work such as building, repairing, or replacing wooden structures or parts such as doors, window, cabinets, etc. Drives from shop to cabins to do preventative maintenance work or trouble calls as needed. Performs painting duties based on instructions from supervisor. Performs painting duties based on instructions from supervisor. Performs minor plumbing duties such as fixing, plugged drains, leaky faucets, replacing pipes, plumbing fixtures, etc. May assist with loading or unloading or moving furniture, appliances, and other equipment. In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience:
Applicants must have training or experience in performing simple carpentry and painting work in which the applicant has gained skill in the use of simple hand and power tools such as saws, planes, hammers, wrenches, pliers, etc. Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 75 pounds. The incumbent is subject to random drug testing.

Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
