Position : Coordinator- Community Impact (Environment)
Job Description : Job Responsibilities:
Ø To coordinate and implement community impact projects related to the environment in and around Mumbai (projects including; training of youth, school children and citizens in marine pollution, waste management, waste segregation, composting mangrove conservation, and protection, etc.) through collaboration with multiple stakeholders
Ø To understand the project objectives, deliverables and create the execution plan for the project under the guidance of the Project Manager
Ø Create a specific plan for the execution of the project on a quarterly basis in alignment with the overall project timelines
Ø To develop and nurture strong relations and collaborations with the relevant stakeholders such as; various departments of Municipal Corporation such as Solid Waste Management, Maintenance department, Garden Department, Maharashtra Maritime board, State Forest Department, Colleges, NSS, NGOs, community members, training agency, etc. for successful implementation of the project
Ø Liaising with stakeholders for successful implementation of the project activities
Ø To develop suitable IEC materials to complement the project theme i.e. beach conservation, marine pollution and waste management, mangrove conservation to complement the educational activities under the project
Ø Work actively with colleges, schools, NGOs to mobilize seek their active participation in the project activities.
Ø To follow up and encourage the school children and youth to carry out awareness activities to educate their own peers on beach conservation, marine pollution, waste management and mangrove conservation and protection.
Ø To develop/ possess basic knowledge and understanding about the field of environment and be able to provide relevant inputs for successful execution of the project activities
Ø To document the project activities and outcomes on a regular basis and submit the project status reports to the donor as per the committed timelines
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
The candidate must have Masters in environmental science or a relevant degree
Minimum of 4 to 5 years (in the field of environment or relevant social projects with a focus on behaviour change)
Ability to interact and connect effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
Efficient in community outreach and mobilization skills
Must be efficient in communicating in English and Hindi; both written and oral communication (efficiency in Marathi will be an added advantage)
Candidate must be a team player and should be willing to travel extensively in and around Mumbai for implementing program activities
Remuneration: Subject to relevant qualification, experience & merit, Salary range is Rs 4.8 L to Rs 6 L p.a
