Job Summary:
We are looking for a Payroll Specialist to process payroll transactions in our company. Payroll Specialist responsibilities include processing timesheets, updating payroll records, and answering employee questions about payments. Ultimately, you will ensure that employees are compensated correctly and on time. If you have great attention to detail and outstanding analytical and numerical skills we would love the chance to speak with you!
. Requirements:

Duties/Responsibilities:
Processing financial compensation or deductions
Overseeing payroll processing/payments
Coordinating with HR about changes in payroll (e.g. terminations, new hires, etc.)
Process attendance records and other documents (e.g. W-2, 1099, other forms)
Check payroll information and reports for accuracy, ensure all relevant paperwork is in order
Oversee electronic payments and distribution of payroll checks
Update data with salary or wage adjustments
Prepare and process weekly payroll for 250+ employees including commission and incentive calculations, timecard reconciliation, PTO balances, payroll liabilities, accruals, and other standard payroll procedures. Process off-cycle payments, garnishments, and support orders
Process other financial compensations or deductions (e.g. annual bonuses, severance pay, taxes, workers compensation, wage garnishments)
Handle benefit expenses, like insurance fees or paid leave, unpaid leave
Produce reports to upper management upon request
Answer employee questions or complaints about salaries and payments
Work with authorities (e.g. IRS, Insurance companies, state offices) on audits or requests
Onboard individuals into Paylocity each week before process payments
Performs other related duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
Proven experience as a payroll specialist or similar role
Familiarity with payroll processes
Good knowledge of legislation relevant to accounting and payroll (such as FLSA etc.)
Working knowledge of payroll systems, specifically Paylocity (Preferred not required)
Comfortable with Excel (e.g. functions, data, etc.)
An analytical mind with good math skills
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to work independently in a time-sensitive environment
Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
Confidentiality and respect for the privacy of employee records
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field and/or equivalent experience
Certificate programs in bookkeeping and payroll administration (Preferred not required)
