Job Description : Job Summary: The Billing Clerk (Payment Clerk) is responsible for the first steps in the billing process for the electronic or paper lock boxes. Daily assignments are provided by the supervisor and the payment clerk must develop a plan to complete work lists by end of each day. Payment Clerks must comply with applicable laws regarding billing standards and be able to operate in a team-oriented environment that strives to provide superior service to anesthesia providers throughout the country.Essential Functions and Tasks: Sort lock boxes from client by date of serviceLog deposit amounts daily for each client’s lock box on spreadsheetReview outstanding issues dailyCreate payment batches in MedSuitePrepare and work correspondence daily per client specificationRetrieve correspondence and sort by clientDisperse paper correspondence to appropriate managersCorrects address on return mailNotates patient accounts properlyEducation and Experience Requirements: High School Diploma or GEDOne year in data entry fieldOne year in medical billing preferredBasic written and verbal communication skillsAbility to make decisions in a timely fashion that are sound, accurate and supported by the reasoning and inclusion of appropriate peopleMust be able to interact well with all kinds of peopleMust be able to prioritize and accomplish objectives in a timely fashionJob Type: Full-timeSchedule:8 hour shiftDay shiftMonday to FridayWork Location: One location
