Position : Youth Mentor – Night Watch
Job Description : Provo Canyon School is a great place to counsel, teach and mentor students who have psychiatric disorders. Our goal is to provide treatment that results in positive changes, allowing these youth to return to their families and communities.***No experience necessary. Full training program available***Provo Canyon School is a 128-bed, residential treatment center located in the beautiful fields of Springville, UT. PCS features group units for adolescent youth and offers psychiatric residential care for both boys and girls between the ages of 12-18.As a Youth Mentor, you will serve as a positive role model for youth while providing close supervision and documenting behaviors. Some of the job responsibilities in this role include:Ensure that students are meeting defined daily goals, including hygiene, unit activities, education & therapy meetings, etc.Intervene during student crisis as necessary by using verbal de-escalation skills and other personal safety techniquesFacilitation of group interactions and ensuring students are behaving according to standards.Educate students on appropriate behavior and possible consequences by using positive verbal skills.***Starting pay is $14.50 an hour***Work Schedule we offer for this postion:Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights (10PM – 9AM)All UHS subsidiaries are committed to providing an environment of mutual respect where equal employment opportunities are available to all applicants and teammates.
