CSH is a 277 bed inpatient psychiatric hospital led by a team committed to the pursuit of excellence in serving individuals with mental health needs. We aim to support the wellness and safety of individuals and their communities throughout the Commonwealth. We’re looking for a highly motivated individual with exceptional communication and organizational skills to serve as a Recruitment Specialist for the Human Resources Department. This position is eligible for a hybrid telework schedule.
What a typical day looks like:The Recruitment Specialist will assist with all facets of the full cycle recruitment process to include:Create job postings and advertisements and manage the Recruitment Management System (RMS).Use creative recruiting strategies to acquire talent for “hard to fill” positions.Plan and execute a smooth onboarding process for new employees.Develop and conduct training seminars for hiring managers, selection committees and staff employees.Conduct application screenings, interviews and employment offers.Utilize the Commonwealth of Virginia’s 13 pay factors to determine fair and consistent pay practices based upon the state’s hiring policies.Counsel staff and the general public on recruitment policies and procedures and serve as a consultant to hiring managers.Attend public events that promote the DBHDS and Central State Hospital’s employment and workforce development program.
Minimum Qualifications
The experience we’re looking to add to our team:Considerable knowledge of human resource policies and procedures related to recruitment and selection strategies for equity, diversity and inclusion.Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply human resource principles and practices, including federal state laws and regulations and policies to recruitment and selection functions.Demonstrated knowledge of Commonwealth of Virginia (COVA) human resource principles, practices related classification and compensation.Demonstrated ability to analyze issues and reach logical and defensible conclusions; to counsel and advise managers and employees on recruitment activities.Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing with multiple levels of management.Considerable experience working in an office environment, to include strong competency using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).Working knowledge and experience using the Recruitment Management System (RMS)Ability to pay close attention to detail, plan and prioritize work assignments.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.High school diploma/GED required.
Preferred Qualifications
We’re excited if you also have:Advanced degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related fieldExperience working full cycle recruitment.Experience using an applicant tracking system for the purposes of screening applications and posting positions.
