Job Description:
Full Time Hourly : Perma-Fix is accepting resumes for Radiological Controls Technicians (RCTs) for potential assignments at Norfolk Naval Shipyard (NNSY) located in Portsmouth, VA.
These positions are responsible for implementing the day-to-day requirements of the Facility Radiation Protection Program in support of decontamination and decommissioning of radiologically impacted vessels and support structures.
Preference will be given to candidates with previous NNSY experience, NAVSEA 389-0288, Radiological Controls, (Article 108), and NRRPT certified personnel.
. Requirements:
RCT RequirementsMinimum 3 years’ experience in the field of radiation protection.Minimum 1 year experience involving radiological release and waste generation.Demonstrated ability and understanding of the fundamentals of mathematics, physics, chemistry and science.Demonstrated reading and comprehension level sufficient to follow procedures, write permits, prepares survey reports, and prepare equipment transfer papers.Ability to work in a support role, including communication of verbal instruction to others.
RCT Compensation Package$36/hour depending upon experience and qualifications.Non-Exempt – Overtime paid at time and ½ for hours worked over 40.$127 Per Diem for Eligible Personnel.Mobilization and Demobilization to site.
