The Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control Authority’s (VA ABC) Web and Digital Operations Division is seeking a Digital Content Support Specialist to join the Digital Content team. The Division provides day-to-day management and strategic leadership for Virginia ABC’s websites, ecommerce, and related web-based applications, as well as system ownership of other digital systems such as the account system and intranet. This position is responsible for mastering and troubleshooting capabilities in the content management system, search engine, and supporting systems around SEO, SEM, analytics, and website optimization. The incumbent will help document improvements for digital development. Additionally, provides a bridge between the Digital Operations team and IT technical resources in the Digital Development Group while also training content managers in best practices and proper use of digital content systems.
The ideal candidate will have a curiosity about implementing new digital content solutions using tools such as Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager and other technology related to the online customer experience, as well as an ability to evaluate and troubleshoot technical challenges in these and related systems.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Provide relevant system knowledge as the subject matter expert (SME) in identifying and troubleshooting issues in order to facilitate the content activities of the Web and Digital Operations team: manage website content, enhance the customer experience (CX) and expand ecommerce personalization.
Support search and system optimization. Identify best practices and maintain job aids.
Implement and optimize tools to track the performance of digital campaigns and content (GTM, SEM, pixels, UTMs).
Create additional tools for system and content optimization (e.g., PowerShell Scripts for health checks).
Support Digital Operations team in generating reports.
Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge of emerging and current web technologies, especially those that relate to digital marketing (social media and email marketing, online advertising)
Knowledge of digital content tools, such as content management system (Sitecore, Google Business), search management (Coveo), digital analysis (Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager), and website optimization (SiteImprove).
Knowledge of HTML, HTML reporting, and bootstrap coding for web content.
Proficient with quantitative test design and analysis.
Familiarity with digital marketing tools and practices, such as SEO, SEM, accessibility, digital marketing, and paid search best practices.
Advanced organizational and prioritization skills.
Advanced collaboration skills, with some experience in working on teams.
Advanced writing skills and ability to effectively communicate with multiple audiences.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, organize workflow, set priorities, thrive in a fast-paced environment, consistently meet deadlines, adhere to brand identity and editorial standards.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferably 4-year college degree, Bachelor’s degree, with preference for majors that demonstrate clear analytical, technical, and critical thinking skills OR working to complete a relevant bachelor’s degree.
Working experience with digital content systems/websites preferred.
Special Requirements
Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control Authority headquarters office has relocated to 7450 Freight Way, Mechanicsville, VA 23116.
Virginia ABC has a Return to Office plan in place. Employees are currently coming into the office one-day-a-week as the first step towards the goal of three days in the office.
