Position : Government Affairs Associate
Job Description : Overview:
Do you have a passion for education transformation? The Government Affairs Associate supports yes. every kid.’s policy efforts in key states including coalition management, lobbying, and grassroots organizing. The Government Affairs Associate works in concert with the Government Affairs Managers to execute our policy agenda that advances the vision of the organization.
The yes. every kid. team is remote with an optional in-person office in Arlington, VA.
Your Responsibilities Include
You will track analyze ongoing legislation and the founational education landscape
You will draft communications, including op-eds, statements, fact sheets, etc.
You’ll support Government Affairs Managers with research, scheduling, contracts, and other administrative tasks
You will partner with the Government Affairs team to connect lobbyists and other stakeholders to the Vision of yes. every kid.
You will draft legislation
You will contribute to specialized projects on an ad hoc basis
Knowledge and Skills You Bring to the Organization
You can travel up to 25% of the time, depending on the need
You’re able to work independently, as well as collaboratively, in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, remote environment
You’re able to capture and synthetsize input and support from multiple stakeholders and communities for more effective communication across teams and individuals
You’re an excellent written and verbal communicator, have strong attention to the detail, and high professionalism
You have a background in political science, policy, law
