Job Description : Description: DESCRIPTIONThe Tahirih Justice Center is a national, nonprofit organization that serves women, girls, and other immigrant survivors fleeing gender-based violence. Our interdisciplinary, trauma-informed model of service combines free legal and social services with bridge-building policy advocacy and research-based training and education. Our programs efficiently and effectively leverage donated professional services from a vast network of attorneys, medical professionals, and other experts to serve as many immigrant survivors as possible. [Learn more about Tahirih’s Values, including our Commitment to Anti-Racism.]*JOB SUMMARY*The Tahirih Justice Center is seeking an Executive Assistant to support its Chief Executive Officer (CEO). This position offers a unique opportunity to an organized, energetic, and passionate individual to learn about and influence executive level non-profit leadership. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, an exceptional writer and communicator, and passionate about social justice advocacy in a nonprofit setting. Job duties include administrative work such as scheduling, electronic file maintenance, periodic document preparation, and coordination of meetings. The Assistant may be asked to join the CEO at internal and external meetings for the purpose of note taking and follow up. In addition, the Assistant will work closely with the CEO to draft content for communication with stakeholders through emails, statements, social media, and news media. The Assistant also works with the CEO to liaise with the Board of Directors and supports the Board with meeting logistics, notes, and scheduling.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSAdministrative work including scheduling, coordination, logistics, expense tracking, and file maintenanceSchedule and organize logistics for meetings with internal and external stakeholdersAccompany the CEO to meetings for the purpose of note taking and follow upLiaise and support the Board of Directors with logistics for quarterly meetings, note taking, scheduling, maintaining & creating Board calendar, tracking Board participation & fundraising efforts, and follow upCoordinate shared documents including the quarterly CEO progress reportTrack policy and program changes and updates with and for CEODraft and edit emails to external stakeholdersDraft and edit public statements, blog posts, social media posts, etc.. Requirements: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSEducationSignificant experience relevant to the role and/or a bachelor’s degreeExperience and QualificationsParticipation in activities or employment that required content creation through a diversity of media in a professional style and for the purpose of advocacyAdministrative work such as filing, note taking, scheduling, etc.Strong interpersonal skillsSuccessful collaboration with peers and senior professionals including in academic or professional settingsDemonstrated commitment to social justice (prior employment, clubs or activities, volunteerism)Excellent written and verbal communication skillsDetail oriented, self-starter, strong problem solving and time management skillsAbility to maintain confidentiality and use discretion requiredProficient in Microsoft Office (Publisher, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, and Teams), social media platforms, and CRM softwarePREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSExperience planning, coordinating, and executing eventsAnnual salary and benefits: The salary range for this position is $40-000 –$45,000 and will be commensurate to experience and qualifications.
