Job Description : This is a full-time, remote position with regular local travel required within a reasonable distance from their home-based office, usually within two hours travel time of their home.The Vocational Case Manager is responsible for assisting injured workers receiving workers’ compensation benefits in returning to work within their physical capabilities as outlined by their physicians. Conducting job search activities to identify appropriate employment opportunities that accommodate the capabilities of the injured worker. Working as an intermediary between insurance adjusters, attorneys, medical care providers, employers and employees, as appropriate to keep parties informed of your efforts. You will:Use vocational evaluation skills to identify job leads and communicate these to the injured worker through emails, letters, and face-to-face meetings.Serve as an intermediary to interpret and educate the individual on his/her vocational capabilities and career opportunities.Interact with attorneys, employers, adjusters, and treating physicians regarding vocational issues and return to work efforts.Provide resources for claims personnel when needing providers in certain locales.Coordinate with employers determining modified work potential.Report billing hours in accordance with case activity and billing practices.Follow specific account instructions.Demonstrate professionalism within the work place and in dealing with injured workers, employers, and other parties.Follow up with potential employers to determine the status of the injured worker’s application and to advocate for their employment.Carefully document all activities in reports, emails, and other correspondence.Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree a minimum, with preference for degrees in Rehabilitation Counseling, Psychology, or Sociology from an accredited program.Or Licenses or Certifications: Current, Case Manager license (CRP) in Virginia through the department of Health Professions.CCM, CRRN, COHN, CDMS, or CRC preferredMinimum of one year experience in vocational rehabilitation/job placement assistance, preferably with workers’ compensationOr 2 years in case management coordinating care for persons with disability and facilitating return to work needsWorkers’ compensation or disability management experience is highly desired, but not requiredPrevious field case management experience is preferred but not requiredRequires excellent time management and organizational skills.Spanish speaking a plusMust have reliable transportation and good driving recordKnowledge of basic computer skills including Excel, Word, and Outlook EmailWritten Abilities: Proficient grammar, sentence structure and written communication skills are required.Benefits : Medical, Dental, Vision, Life and AD&D Insurance, 401(k) with company matching, Short- and Long-Term disability insurance. All technology equipment for a home-based office is supplied to the employee.
