Job Description : Find Your Next Rewarding Job in Your Aviation CareerKenai Aviation Training Academy is a FAA certified flight school (Part 141) looking for our next CFI to join our team of dedicated instructors. This position has opportunities to move up into flying in our partnered 135 flight operation. Kenai Aviation Training Academy is a partner with the Horizon AirlinesPilot Development Program.Job DescriptionThe Certificated Flight Instructor (CFI) provides ground and flight instruction to students using a variety of methods that include classroom training, in-flight instruction, and the use of flight simulators. FlightInstructors are responsible for ensuring individual student success through the training process ofPrivate, Instrument, Commercial, Commercial Multi-Engine, ATP, Seaplane, and Tailwheel Transition pilot training programs. They play an integral role in ensuring our operational safety and work closely with theChief Instructor to enhance our training experience for students.ResponsibilitiesConducts ground and flight training operations with private, instrument, and commercial pilot students.Safely operates training aircraft in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures and Syllabi.Coordinates the flight training schedule with students and staff in compliance with scheduling policies.Fuels training aircraft as necessary.Provides and maintains records of necessary student pilot endorsements needed to satisfy TSA,FAA, VA, and State regulations.Maintains individual student records needed for student billing and tracking.Instruct students in both ground knowledge and flight training.Schedule student lessons as needed.Keep track of student progress and assign materials for following lessons IAW applicable Syllabi.Conduct Demo/ Introductory flights and provide potential students with flight training information.Conduct Flight Reviews.Keep up to date on FARs and Regulations.Give proper endorsements to students as needed.Qualifications: Current FAA CFI certificate and Flight ReviewCurrent 1st, 2nd, or 3rd class Medical CertificatePreferred: Instrument Instructor (CFII) certificatePreferred: Multi Engine Instructor (MEI) certificatePreferred: Airplane Single Engine Sea (ASES) certificatePreferred: Tailwheel ExperienceAbility to follow teaching syllabus.Must be self-motivated to keep students on task.Good communication skills with office staff and studentsCompensation: $25-$35/hour DOEJob Types: Full-time, Part-timePay: $25.00 – $35.00 per hourSchedule:8 hour shiftWeekend availabilityAbility to commute/relocate:Kenai, AK 99611: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)Experience:Teaching: 1 year (Preferred)License/Certification:Pilot License (Preferred)Certified Flight Instructor License (Preferred)Work Location: One location
