Job Description : Distiller Apprentice Job Role GuideSUMMARYWould you like to produce award-winning Alaskan spirits? Anchorage Distillery is looking for a friendly, hard-working, and coachable person to work as an Apprentice Distiller. The Head Distiller will be your trainer and manager. You will perform a variety of activities that go into producing our gin, vodka, and whiskey products. These responsibilities including packaging product, daily cleaning, and facility maintenance. Over time, you will have the opportunity to receive training and grow your responsibilities to include brewing and distilling.COMPENSATION$16 per hour during apprentice periodDETAILED ACTIVITIESPrimary ResponsibilitiesPackaging – Wash and fill bottles; apply labels, caps, and shrink wrap seals; palletize cases for shipment to customers. *Note: A signifiant portion of the work week will go toward packaging and preparing outbound shipments*Equipment maintenance & cleaning – Clean and maintain production equipment on a daily basis.Facility organization and cleaning – Continuously clean the production area and ensure all items are organized and put away by shift’s end.Miscellaneous – Lifting loads; receiving deliveries; team meetings.Additional Responsibilities with additional trainingBrewing – Mill, mash, and ferment grain into a ‘distiller’s beer.’Distilling – Operate stills to produced finished alcohol.Record keeping – Quality control checks; performing inventories of inputs and finished products; and updating daily production logs.ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS21+ years old.High School diploma or higher.Ability to provide references from current and former employers.Ability to provide documentation verifying US employment eligibility.Successful completion of a background check prior to beginning employment.STRONG CANDIDATES WILL HAVE…1 year or more of brewing or distilling experience.Forklift qualification.Work experience dealing with large loads in a warehouse environment.Ability to perform work autonomously and with teammates through clear spoken & written communications, attention to detail, and strong follow-through.Job Type: Part-timePay: From $16.00 per hourSchedule:10 hour shift8 hour shiftMonday to FridayWeekend availabilityEducation:High school or equivalent (Required)Experience:BREWING: 1 year (Preferred)DISTILLING: 1 year (Preferred)Warehouse: 1 year (Preferred)Work Location: One location
