Position : Database Reporting Specialist
Job Description : All Covenant House Alaska employees are required to have or obtain a COVID-19 vaccination as a term and condition of employment unless an exemption has been approved. Position Summary
The Database Reporting Specialist reports to the Quality Improvement Coordinator, developing reports in Efforts to Outcomes (ETO) database to assist in data analysis, satisfying data requests, and internal and external audits. In collaboration with the Database Audit and Training Specialist, the position will realize systems for internal audits of information collected in CHA programs. In addition, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing reports to assist the Data Analyst in identifying notable trends in the data collected at CHA, viewing agency services and youth outcomes through the lense of diversity, equity, and inclusion. An integral part of this position requires the Database Reporting Specialist to remain up to date on current and new ETO features and functionalities, database reporting best practices, Structured Query Language (SQL), and concepts driving the development of ETO.

Commit to engage in personal and professional growth and competence development to increase the agency’s capacity to serve youth every day
Keep supervisor fully informed at all times
Perform other duties as assigned
General Responsibilities
Responsible for generation, continual enhancement, and distribution of reports in CHA’s database system ETO
Tasked with oversight and prompt accommodation of all submitted data requests
In collaboration with the Database Audit and Training Specialist or Data Analyst, develop reports that:
Enhance auditing efficiency and overall data completeness across diverse programming
Accurately monitor data metrics required for program funding
Are tailored with the aim of testing the department’s hypotheses and other research efforts
Are capable of monitoring overall database health and quality, striving for DICTUM (deduplication, integrity, completeness, timeliness, usability, and meaning) in all areas of the system
Satisfy requirements of newly established funding streams and programs in development
Identify and communicate changing trends of interest to Program and Agency Leadership
Inform program decisions and agency courses of action in real time
Provide training to program staff and leadership on the value in and use of created reports
Utilize reporting tools in adopted database systems outside of ETO, including but not limited to the Alaska Homeless Management Information System (AKHMIS)
Work with outside entities to access information reliably and efficiently in external systems such as AKHMIS
Manages confidential information responsibly
Assist staff in troubleshooting technical issues, liaising with IT Director as needed
Required Education
High School Diploma (or GED) required
Associate degree preferred (or equivalent experience)
Preferred Experience
Excellent computer skills including experience with MS Word, PowerPoint, and particularly Excel
Experience with database reporting software such as Business Objects and Structured Query Language
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate effectively with non-technical staff
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
Basic understanding of adolescent development and behaviors
Strong ability to relate effectively with staff, youth, and community agencies
Ability to work with people of varied cultural backgrounds and tolerate differences in behavior

Have a clean driving record with a current state of Alaska Driving License
Pass federal, state and local background investigation
