Job Description : Homeport Electronics, Inc is a small, family owned shop located on the north end of Mitkof Island in Petersburg, AK. Homeport sells and services computers and marine electronics and provides managed computer services to hundreds of Apple and Windows workstations and servers.Petersburg, Alaska, (aka Little Norway) has a population of 3000 year around. We are a major commercial fishing hub and see a pretty big influx of people in the summers. We do have pretty good broadband internet. Southeast Alaska is a paradise for anyone into any outdoor adventure who is done with the overpopulated city life. We are just steps from world class adventure, fishing, and most any other outdoor recreation you can think of.This is not your average IT job.This role will answer inbound calls from clients requesting immediate technical support as well as inbound requests from clients via other methods such as email. A successful team member will be able to verify accuracy of all information, document such information, and provided client and technical support to resolve issues.We are looking for someone with experience:2 years in IT and Customer Service related position.Phone based support and excellent customer skills.Issue tracking (Ticketing) systems.All aspects of PC and Laptop hardware, setup, and maintenance; including installation and configuration of hard drives, RAM, and other PC components and accessories.Installing, configuring, and supporting printers.Installing, configuring, and supporting a wide range of Routers, switches, and other network gear.Office 365Windows OSMacOSClient/Server/Internet DNSClient/Server File SharingExperience with Connectwise Automate is a strong plusThe right team member will have the following habits:Ability to relate to clients and speak to non-technical end usersAbility to remain calm under pressureGreat writing skills for end user communication and documentation of actionsUnderstand basic troubleshooting (cause/effect, follow-the-chain)Team Player, ready to dive into a diverse teamAbility and desire to learn quicklyPhysical Requirements:Ability to lift 25 pounds regularlyAbility to work from a ladderAbility to work with others in tight quartersAbility to walk on and work on uneven groundExample of Duties:40% remote support40% in-shop repairs10% on-site support (visiting homes, businesses, boats, etc)5% Firewall/Router, Network, and DVR setup and maintenance5% other – including Marine ElectronicsJob Type: Full-timePay: $43,786.00 – $58,240.00 per yearBenefits:Employee discountRelocation assistanceSchedule:Monday to FridaySupplemental Pay:Bonus payCOVID-19 considerations:Safety is of upmost importance to us.
