Position : Laboratory Technician
Job Description : We are looking for a qualified Lab Technician to undertake a variety of laboratory procedures of technical nature. You will be handling sensitive equipment to analyze The ideal candidate will have experience with molecular biology, is meticulous and detail oriented, and keeps good records. She/he must be organized, hard-working, and have excellent communication skills. In addition to sample processing, the team member will also be responsible for creating SOPs, reviewing job applicants, training new team members, reviewing customer data, and communicating with customers. There is potential for advancement since our team is growing rapidly.ResponsibilitiesReceive a high volume of samples from courier and quickly ensure all samples are properly onboarded and accounted for.Precisely follow SOPs to process samples from arrival through loading onto DNA sequencing machineOrganize and store all chemicals substances, fluids and compressed gases according to safety instructionsMaintain equipment and assist in ordering laboratory suppliesEnsure that all safety guidelines are followed strictly at all times and maintain a clean and orderly environmentMaintaining good time-management and organization under pressureDeveloping efficient workflows to maximize robustness of protocolsPreparing and improve SOPs for sample processing and other routine tasksReviewing job applicantsTraining and managing new team membersReviewing customer data and communicating with customers about their resultsSkillsProven experience as Lab Technician or relevant positionExperience in operating electrical and nonelectrical laboratory equipment and potentially dangerous substances (flammable liquids, infectious bacteria, biohazards etc.)Knowledge of laboratory best practicesExcellent physical condition and enduranceWorking knowledge of basic laboratory instruments and processes, such as a pipette and preparation of buffers and solutions.Ability to work autonomously and under pressure. Must be able to perform in a startup environment, adapting to and solving unexpected situations as they arise.Degree in science (e.g., biology, chemistry or relevant field)General knowledge of DNA sequencing is a plus.Job Type: Full-timePay: $20.00 – $35.00 per hourSchedule:8 hour shiftCOVID-19 considerations:Employees are required to be fully vaccinated.Education:Bachelor’s (Preferred)Work Location: One location
