Job Description : POSITION SUMMARY:
The primary function of this position is to select cases, containers or pallets of finished frozen goods to fill orders from freezer warehouse locations and transport to the appropriate staging / loading areas, as well as put away supplies, load and unload trailers in a timely manner ensuring all safety, GMP and quality standards are met and to maintain the efficient flow of the production process
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Put on all required Freezer PPE and Safety Gear, perform a safety check on equipment and insure safety devices are functioning properly.
Obtain work schedule and daily production, risk predictions, paperwork and prepare for operations.
Take part in the SOR Shift Operation Review- (SOR), communicate and receive shift information prior to start of shift operations/or relieving operator to discuss RDC operational progress and functional issues.
Perform safety inspection on Powered Industrial Truck, (PIT) and/or any electric powered lift used to insure safety devices are working within normal operating specifications and log all information on (PIT) safety in appropriate database.
Ensure that all E-Stops, Machine and People Guards and like devices have be tested and are operational according to Bakersfield Operations Center (BOC), Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) minimum requirements.
Manually and accurately select appropriate frozen Product from rack location or forward pick in the freezer to build pallets to fill customer orders.
Layer pick/ Hand pick to build full pallets and transport completed palletized orders to shipping dock or staging area with a forklift as required.
Ensure count accuracy, record counts on appropriate forms, (Loader Check List), and visually inspect for damaged product.
Wrap completed pallet with stretch wrap to prepare customer order, then label and ready the order for shipment if needed.
Put away full pallets of incoming product, load and unload trailers, breakdown or super-size pallets and change stretch wrap rolls.
Obtain samples for Quality Control, replenish pick slots, rotate date sensitive stock and keep work areas clear and clean.
Remove empty pallets of corrugate cardboard, packing, and strapping to the proper area or receptacles and load baler as needed.
Inspect empty pallets for damage, stack and move pallets with Power Jack or Forklift to the proper storage area.
Perform general housekeeping duties; scrape, chip ice, clean freezer, keep loading dock and trailers clean and dry.
Clean-up spills, sweep / mop floors, place trash in proper receptacles and remove when full.
At end of shift, secure all equipment, complete all required paperwork, and perform general housekeeping and clean-up as required.
All other duties as assigned

Must be able to use, or learn to use, the equipment and tools used to perform the job.
Must meet the company performance standards for the job.
Must participate in company orientation and training.
Must be able to follow instructions.
Must be able to work the scheduled / assigned times and required overtime for the position.
Ability to work well with others.
Basic computer skills.
Ability to make independent decisions.
Forklift driving experience/certification preferred.
Knowledge of the computer inventory systems.
0ne to three (1-3) years of related experience preferred.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to frozen conditions of around 20 below. The employee is required to work in an environment that may include exposure to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, electricity, and vibrations. PPE and training are provided to eliminate/reduce the risk of harm. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
