Job Description : Responsibilities
In this role, you will serve to support the Career Development & Well-Being Programs in the Student Affairs Office at the David Geffen School of Medicine. You will coordinate programming and events for the Societies as part of the Longitudinal Advising Program, and also provide general administrative support to the Student Affairs Office as needed. Additionally, you will be responsible for administrative tasks associated with setting up events, ordering food, booking rooms, processing reimbursements and other related tasks for the Student Affairs Office.
Qualifications
Skilled at working independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
Ability to problem-solve and work independently with high degree of accuracy
Must be able to manage several accurate databases at once
Previous experience working with faculty and students strongly preferred
Ability to read and write business correspondence with a high degree of accuracy
Advanced skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Outlook and calendaring programs
Ability to communicate effectively, respectfully, and professionally with faculty, students and staff, both orally and in writing
Skilled in meeting planning: logistical arrangements, announcements, registration, and evaluation
Knowledge of the current medical student curriculum and proposed changes
Ability to organize tasks and information in order to facilitate the various responsibilities of the office of the Student Affairs, track various projects, maintain files, etc.
Ability to read and write English with appropriate spelling, grammar, and punctuation
Ability to synthesize information from a variety of sources
Ability to work effectively as a team member
Ability to maintain confidentiality of information and handle issues discretely and with appropriate sensitivity
Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with other staff members, faculty and students
Ability to interact with individuals of diverse backgrounds
