Job Description : Position Summary: Greets members and guests with the aloha spirit as soon as they walk in to the dining area; escorts members and guests to their table; provide patrons with wait time estimates (if applicable); runs the dining room reservations in the most efficient manner.Essential Job Functions: · Upon start of shift, checks the room to ensure that tables have been properly set and are ready for business.· Greets guests, escorts them to tables, and provides menus.· Must know the number and location of all tables.· Provides patrons with accurate wait time estimates during busy periods; Keeps wait times under control to avoid angry members/guests.· Communicates all members/guest’s special requests to managers. Ensures that when possible, all special requests are met.· Supervises and coordinates activities of dining room personnel to provide fast and courteous service to patrons.· Answers incoming reservation line; Schedules dining reservations and arranges parties or special services for diners.· Must be aware of social distancing and provides friendly reminders about Outrigger Canoe Club’s policies to members and guests.· Routinely wipes down and sanitizes hostess stand and other common areas visibly seen.· Maintains a neat and organized front of the house environment.· Inspects sanitary conditions to ensure maintenance of company standards and conformance with the health code.· May be asked to reconfirm next day reservations.· Addresses all member/guest concerns brought to their attention.· All other duties as assigned.Qualifications: Must be friendly, outgoing, self-motivated people person.Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three-months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute, rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10lbs and frequently lift and/or move up to 25lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions, extreme cold, extreme heat, and risk of electrical shock.
