Job Description : PRESCHOOL DIRECTORFull-time positionPotential starting dates: Immediately; or before May 31, 2022; or before August 1, 2022Salary and benefits: From $65,000 to $85,000 (commensurate with education and experience) for an academic year. Judd Street; 5-minutes from Downtown Honolulu (easy access from all major highways)Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with courses in early childhood education, child development, or related fields and at least two (2) years of experience teaching and working with children (preferred); Or, combination of two years of college education or child development associate certification (CDA) in early childhood education and four (4) years of experience teaching and working with children; Satisfy all other requirements for a director of a preschool facility as set forth in the State of Hawaii, Department of Human Services (HAR) rules; Be director qualified and registered with the Hawaii DHS Early Childhood Registry (PATCH); First Aid and CPR certified; and Interest and ability to foster and uphold the Christian values and mission of the preschool.We are looking for a director who will: Provide a safe, nurturing and stimulating learning environment for the children; Develop early childhood curriculum and programs; Recruit, supervise, and provide professional development for staff and teachers; Develop enrollment and admission policies; Develop and foster parent relations; Develop, implement, and enforce school policies and procedures; Develop, implement, and enforce teacher and staff handbooks, policies, and procedures; Manage and maintain school facilities; Engage in ongoing communications with children, parents, staff, and the Church Board of Directors and its committees; Enforce Church and preschool safety policies and procedures; and Ensure preschool meets all State of Hawaii Department of Health child care and preschool licensing and Department of Health requirements. It has been in existence for over fifty years, and has been one of the premier preschools in Honolulu. Student enrollment averages around 140 children. The children are educated and nurtured by 28 teachers and staff. We have a cafeteria that provides snacks and hot meals to the children, staff, and teachers on a daily basis.We are looking for a director who loves children and has a passion for early childhood education. We are looking for someone who is personable, professional, and energetic.
