Job Description : ***Qualified candidates in the Houston are may also be considered for it’s local office***Position Summary: The Director of Safety position is responsible for the standardization, implementation and execution of companywide safety programs and initiatives. This position ensures processes and strategies deliver a positive safety culture and affords support for a safe, qualified workforce.Essential Functions: · Collaborates with management to develop, prepare, and implement safety policies and procedures· Build and oversee team of safety professionals that will support the division operations teams.· Indirect oversight of QEP’s, who will conduct on-boarding, training, and support on-the-job training by working with new crews and providing oversight on critical tasks and projects· Develop loss reduction strategies across the division using a combination of data driven approach and information from root cause identification· Identifies opportunities to minimize workplace injuries, accidents, and health problems.· Recommend improvements to safety programs and support processes· Assist with ensuring all safety manuals, programs, policies, and practices are current· Build consensus when appropriate, motivate and encourage others· Communicates well both verbally and in writing (create accurate and punctual reports, delivers presentations)· Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local safety laws, regulations, codes, and rules.· Ensures completion of required OSHA recordkeeping and reporting.· Stops operations and activities that could harm employees or equipment.· Conducts safety inspections and audits to assess employee compliance with safety regulations.· Conduct incident investigations, root-cause analyses.Minimum Requirements: · At least five years of occupational health and safety experience in linework· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
