Job Description : JOB SUMMARYThe Shop Supervisor is responsible for managing all aspects of the machine shop, assembly, shipping, receiving, and the respective employees. Oversee the assembled product according to customer orders. This role will partner with internal departments according to production schedules. Duties include reviewing and distribution of production, work and shipment schedules; determine the progress of work and completion dates; reporting on progress, costs, and production levels to meet customer delivery timeframes. Review orders, assist with the assignment of responsibilities, identify issues and/or corrections to ensure NPC policies and service levels are met. Adhere and reinforce all safety and quality procedures and processes.SUPERVISORY REQUIREMENTSThis position will supervise 3-5 employees in the machine, shipping/receiving, and assembly departments.DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSManage department operations to meet and exceed scheduling demands as defined in the business system. 25%Accurately and effectively communicate job progress, issues, and completions with department supervisors and leadership. 25%Review productions orders, BOM’s, work instructions for accuracy; identify solutions to foreseeable issues with materials, changes to the design, and schedules. 25%Conduct and assign employee training as necessary to ensure proper applications, processes are followed 10%Distribute production schedules or work orders, report to management any design changes and obstacles; assess progress and propose changes to avoid delays 10%Confer with management regarding employee’s attendance, performance and assist with the performance evaluation process; Enforce safety, quality, productivity, and labor utilization within the department 5%Additional duties and/or projects as assigned. TOTAL 100%OTHER FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIESThis position will provide regular backup support to the Branch Manager for document review, materials, and products to determine completeness, accuracy, and conformance to standards and specifications.
