Position : HR Assistant
Job Description : The Human Resources Assistant is responsible for the administrative support of day-to-day Human Resource operations. This position supports all functional areas of Human Resources including but not limited to talent acquisition, performance management, database management, resolving employee inquires and providing administrative support to HR Team while maintaining a high level of confidentiality.*ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS*Provide administrative support to the HR team. Assist with day-to-day operations of various HR functions and duties.Assist with all internal and external HR related inquiries or requests including answering frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refer more complex questions/concerns to appropriate HR staff or management.Assist with administrative input and database monitoring, into a variety of systems (benefits, ATS, employee files). Perform file audits to ensure that all required employee documentation is collected and maintained.Collaborate and provide back-up support with the Tribal Gaming Agency on upcoming background checks needed for potential new hires.Provide support to administer, review, and process Personnel Action Forms associated with Resort-wide transfers, wage changes, separations, and other employee changes.Prepare a variety of HR correspondence, reports, presentations and analytics for the HR team.Verify unemployment claims and assist with unemployment communication with employees and the Employment Security Department. Audit, track and assist employees with hours reported to SharedWork program.Conduct and track 60-day new hire interviews, 90 day reviews, and annual performance reviews while reporting consolidated data to management.Maintain and administer the performance process by managing new and existing employees; create user information and appraisals, update current user information as needed, monitor for past due appraisals, assist managers and supervisors as needed, and update appraisal templates when necessary.Prepare, track, and submit Requisition for Disbursement Forms and invoices for the HR department.Pick up and sort mail daily, ensuring mail is distributed to the correct person. Prepare packages being shipped by UPS, FedEx and other carriers.Manage, maintain, scan, and purge employee files per record keeping requirements.Maintain and audit social security verification and any correspondence required from employees.Work as a supportive and cooperative Human Resources team member providing excellent customer service to all Resort employees.Provide personnel information to department managers upon request, as well as employment and income verification to outside requests as needed on behalf of the Resort.Perform miscellaneous and general office duties as assigned.Follow all general and department policies and procedures.*QUALIFICATIONS*AA/AS degree in business administration (or related field) with two years of high-level administrative experience, preferably in Human Resources.Proficient understanding and use of Microsoft Office software: Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint; experience with web based HRIS preferred.Ability to demonstrate a high degree of professionalism in communication and teamwork with employees.Demonstrated ability to provide high level support across multiple department functions.Must possess outstanding interpersonal communications skills to effectively interface with guests and/or team members.Strong organization, prioritization and multiple-tasking skills.Strong attention to detail, and a commitment to quality.Highly adaptable with the ability to adjust to change in a positive manner.Native American/ Alaskan Native preferences apply*REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, AND/OR TESTING*Must be able to pass a background investigation.Must be a able to pass a pre-hire drug screening.Must be able to complete 7 Cedars Resort customer service program.*PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS*Must be available to work any shift (to include all hours, weekends, and/or holidays as job duties require).Must be able to lift, push and carry up to 20 lbs. unassisted.Physical ability to access all areas of the property applicable to your position.Must be able to withstand prolonged standing, sitting, walking, bending, climbing and twisting without restriction.Requires eye/hand coordination and manual dexterity; ability to distinguish letters, numbers and symbols.Must have the ability to reach at or below/above shoulder level on a continuous basis.Must be able to work in a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment and maintain physical stamina, proper mental attitude while dealing effectively with customers, management, team members, and outside contacts while working under pressure and meeting deadlines.Location: 270756 Highway 101, Sequim, WA 98382Job Type: Full-timePay: $19.92 – $23.90 per hourBenefits:401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceEmployee assistance programEmployee discountFlexible scheduleHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offRetirement planVision insuranceSchedule:8 hour shiftDay shiftMonday to FridayWork Location: One location
