We are seeking a dynamic team player interested in making an impact in the lives of staff, students and families as a Student Reengagement Coordinator. The job of Student Reengagement Coordinator is done for the purpose/s of coordinating prevention activities and action plans in support, organization, and maintenance of student Attendance and Engagement.Qualifications:REQUIRED:Bachelor’s Degree in education requiredMinimum 5 recent, consecutive years of experience in education/schoolsDemonstrated success working with peers and district/school professional developmentProven Experience teaching and presenting to adult audiencesHigh commitment to accomplishment and flexibility in work hoursMust have good human relations and interpersonal skills, demonstrated ability to keep confidentiality and show initiative when appropriateTravel will be requiredPREFERRED:Master’s degree in education or school counseling preferredTeaching, school counseling or school administration experience preferredSkills, Knowledge, and/or Abilities:Ability to serve as a collaborative member of a team and support the state-wide ESSER Attendance & Reengagement Project.Ability to communicate in writing, email, conversation and public presentations.Have Valid Washington State Driver’s license, reliable transportation, and be willing to travel. Occasional evening hours and weekend work required.Timeline:Position opens: March 11, 2022Position closes: March 24, 2022Screening & Interviews: as soon as possiblePosition begins: August 2022Note: Employment contingent upon successful clearance of a Washington State Patrol, FBI fingerprint criminal history background check, and Sexual Misconduct background check.All NCESD employees are required to follow the Governor’s proclamation 21-14.1 dated August 20, 2021 which requires proof of COVID-19 vaccine or supporting documentation for a valid health or religious exemption.NCESD is an Equal Opportunity EmployerResponsibilities:Collaborates with others for the purpose of sharing expertise and resources, resolving issues, implementing, and maintaining services and programming.Convenes meetings, workshops, and seminars (e.g. attendance and engagement network convenings, trainings, orientations, and conferences, etc.) for the purpose of conveying or gathering information, providing technical expertise, maintaining relationships, and/or supporting attendance and engagement program operations.Coordinates prevention activities (e.g. parent events, key leader orientations, public awareness campaigns, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring the implementation of attendance and engagement strategies and programs to support K-12 youth and their families in regular attendance and active engagement in their schools.Develops data collection instruments and monitors program components (e.g. procedures and processes, communications, training needs, data, RFP process, grants, contracts for services, events, budgets and expenditures, etc.) for the purpose of coordinating activities and ensuring compliance with established financial, legal and/or administrative requirements.Maintains a variety of manual and electronic documents, files, and records for the purpose of providing up-to-date reference for compliance with ESD, state and federal regulations and/or grant requirements.Participates in monitoring activities (e.g. visiting sites, conducting observations, writing reports, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring compliance with federal and/or state regulations and requirements and NCESD policies and procedures.Processes documents and materials for the purpose of disseminating information to appropriate parties.Provides comprehensive training and technical support to school level attendance and engagement teams, agency staff, volunteers, contractors, service providers and community groups on attendance and engagement topics (e.g. multi-tiered systems of support, effective teaming strategies, relevant evidence-based strategies, etc.) for the purpose of building capacity for community-based, data-driven attendance and engagement work.Researches a wide variety of topics (e.g. funding options, best practices, grant requirements, etc.) for the purpose of securing new funding and/or providing information and recommendations for program implementation.Responds to a wide variety of inquiries from others (e.g. community partners, stakeholders, school districts, coalition members, county truancy departments, etc.) for the purpose of resolving problems, providing information and/or referring to appropriate personnel.Exhibits or demonstrates the highest level of professionalism in regards to respectful communication and interactions with others.Serves as a member of the NCESD Student Safety and Well-Being Team.Requires the use of multiple communication and technology systems, which are not limited to: Google and Microsoft tools, Zoom, cloud-based storage, mobile technology, and web-based resources.Other duties as assigned.Professional Growth and ResponsibilitiesMeets or exceeds performance expectations in the following areas:CompetenceQuality & Quantity of WorkAttitudeFlexibility, Innovation, & InitiativeCooperation with Supervisor/Director & PeersDemonstrates & Supports Agency ValuesSupports and implements ESD policies, regulations, procedures, and administrative directives; demonstrates loyalty to the ESD and other administrators.Submits records, reports, and assignments promptly and efficiently.Deals with obstacles and constraints positively.Demonstrates ability to adjust to and use new approaches in the performance of his/her duties.Seeks and takes advantage of opportunities for professional growth.Maintains dress and appearance appropriate to a professional office setting.A new employee is subject to a 180-day probationary period and must be evaluated prior to its end.
