Job Description : Microsoft Cloud Operations + Innovation (CO+I) is the team behind the cloud. CO+I design, builds, acquires, operates, and maintains Microsoft’s datacenters, which house the world’s largest Commercial Cloud globally. Over 90% of Fortune 500 companies are hosted in our datacenters. We are integral to Microsoft’s vision of empowering every person and organization on the planet to achieve more. CO+I is responsible for delivering over 200 Microsoft web portals, Live and Online Services around the world including infrastructure, security and compliance, operations, globalization, and manageability. Our focus is on smart growth, high efficiency, and delivering a trusted experience to customers and partners worldwide.
The CO+I Critical Environment Hardware and Solutions Engineering (CEHSE) team is responsible for designing and delivering solutions to support global datacenter operations and to improve availability. Within CEHSE, we are looking to fill a critical leadership role responsible for leading strategy development and planning for our Global CEHSE business, building upon the framework established for the entire CO+I organization. The CO+I strategy is the foundation upon which Microsoft’s mission to empower every person and organization comes to life. We will ensure we have a strategy that drives continued global growth through both direct leadership of cross-functional strategies and programs and by enabling our extended leadership team through an effective strategic planning process. We will work to establish a multi-year roadmap – planning priority initiatives based on impact, and our ability to execute and absorb change.

Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities:
Establish an ‘Always-on’ Strategy and Planning Capability that the CEHSE organization leverages to drive high impact integrated strategic initiatives with a consistent and efficient approach.
Build and lead a team that develops the multi-year strategic roadmap – collaborates with functional teams, regional leaders, and engineering teams to drive short-, mid- and longer-term strategies.
Understand market trends to inform strategic direction and leverage listening systems to ensure the right business challenges are identified and addressed.
Enable agile change windows within our fiscal year construct and ensure strategies land within overall operating model.
Build capability to test, pilot and measure ROI with customers, suppliers, partners, and our employees.
Enable integrated strategy and planning across our global organization with frameworks and methods that aligns our work and yields a high-quality, integrated strategic plan, support culture activation, and enable regionalization.
Prioritization – Simplify and clarify priorities and drive consistent focus across CO+I strategies globally
Change Management – Provide organizational rigor and discipline around change management
Business Process & Automation -Continuously review business processes and implement opportunities to simplify for scale and automate where possible, increasing efficiency and throughput.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
15+ years of successful, leadership level management of global business in a fast-growing environment.
5+ years proven track record of leading a multi-discipline organization.
Demonstrated success in generating energy, creating clarity, and delivering results inclusively to your diverse team and your broader organization.
Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to think at the strategic level while driving execution on a day-to-day basis. We need to both think ahead strategically while diving deep into execution when needed.
Highly adaptable, strong collaborator and influencer as well as solution-focused activator.
A curiosity and ability to continuously learn and adapt, what we call in Microsoft, the Growth Mindset.
Strong communication, community and program management skills and experience
Experience of presenting to and communicating with executive levels across enterprise
Strong analytical skills, financial and business acumen
Experience of designing, building, and executing highly successful programs at scale
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required – MBA desirable
