Job Description : H5 Data Center Support Technician A core member of our IT support team working on site in our Quincy location. Primary technical lead for customers’ crypto mining equipment. Handles system administration work, deploys physical infrastructure for new deployments, and supports customers with on-site Break/Fix troubleshooting.Works 8 hour shifts with an oncall rotation every five weeksResponsibilitiesProvides hands on, and remote, support for incident resolution and service requests involving employees with technical problems and information technology issues (server, desktop, network, and infrastructure services)Maintains Linux based mining systemsWorks on complex assignments where judgment is required in resolving problems and making recommendationsFollows defined processes for work flow and recognizes when deviation from accepted practice is necessaryWorks well with customers and peers within functional areasMonitors service and incident requests, via ticket queue, and works tickets as appropriateCoordinates and schedules service with internal & external customersFollows IT standards and policies for workflowProvides Hardware Break/Fix solutions for datacenter assetsEngages vendors for onsite repair where applicableDeploys equipment including: racks/cabinets, servers, switches, storage arrays, etc with the ability to physically lift gearRoutes and installs patch cabling for equipment in datacenterImplements and tests solutions provided by engineering teamsProvides remote support for other H5 locationsActs with understanding that actions and decisions have an impact on Customers’ businessesParticipates in formal on the job training on relevant technologyWorks on additional tasks as assignedTrain and direct junior technicians on troubleshooting tasks to repair systemsDeliverablesCompletion of routine service and incident requests within Service Level Agreements (SLA’s)Solutions / work-arounds to service requests for known/new problems, and incidents, within documented SLA’sClear and professional verbal and written communication to customers and management including logs of work performed on service and incident requestsDocumentation for new and existing changes to current processesAsset inventory and configuration documentationTechnical escalation documentation and trackingTest results and input on new tools and software for internal supportInput and recommendations to support team effortsQualificationsAssociates degree or relevant equivalent experienceWorking knowledge of customer service standards and proceduresWorking knowledge of a wide range of computer systems software, applications, hardware, and communicationsWorking knowledge of x86/x64 computing hardware and related equipment (HP, Dell, SuperMicro)Advanced knowledge and troubleshooting techniques for Linux systemsBasic understanding of Cisco & UniFi network, telephony and related equipmentWorking knowledge and understanding of networking fundamentalsWorking knowledge of workforce and business applications (Office, BMS, HTML, Relational Databases)Working knowledge of hardware and software installation procedures and techniquesAdvanced knowledge of industry datacenter standardsJob Type: Full-timePay: $28.00 – $32.00 per hourBenefits:401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceHealth insurancePaid time offVision insuranceSchedule:8 hour shiftOvertimeSupplemental Pay:Bonus payCOVID-19 considerations:All customers and employees in the data center must wear one of the following mask types (N95, KN95, or KF94) indoors at all times.
