The Human Resource Generalist position handles all aspects of the HR department along with payroll assistance, safety, and heavy recruiting.Manage the day-to-day HR operations and administration of policies, procedures and programs, departmental and management development, employee relations, benefits, compensation research, staff recruitment and retention. Originates and leads Human Resource practices and objectives. Supports our company culture that emphasizes teamwork, high standards, respect, and continuous improvement.Specific Responsibilities: Establish and lead recruiting and hiring practices and procedures necessary to sustain a superior workforcePost new positions internally and externally and maintain applicant tracking informationDraft offer letters and perform all due diligence in the hiring processWelcome all new employees with a positive onboarding and orientation experienceMaintain employee Non-Disclosure AgreementsCreate and update job descriptions as neededInteract with temporary labor agencies; recruiting, interviewing, and negotiating rates and contractsConduct investigations when employee complaints or concerns are reportedOngoing training of managers in proper communication of policies, procedures, and other work rulesCoach and assist team leaders in writing and delivering contructive feedback in a manner that will motivate staff to improve while providing solid legal documentation for terminations, if needed. This includes review and approval of counseling documentation, role-playing the delivery, and identifying appropriate development plansAdvise managers and supervisors for timely and consistent resolution of staff issues while maintaining confidentialityEnsure supervisors are communicating with their employees on an onging basisPrepare forms and documents for Employment Security cases, Worker’s Comp cases, and Disciplinary casesDetermine and recommend employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale and motivationConduct periodic surveys to measure employee satisfaction and employee engagementPlanning and coordination of company meetings and other company-sponsored events including employee lunches, holiday parties, raffles, and morale boosting events for both day and swing shiftsMaintain safety programs and organize Safety Committee action itemsMaintain Employee Manual and review policies with senior management. Recommend policy revisions based on current laws, legal changes, and required clarificationsMaintain employee forms and personnel files; hiring, compensation, position transfers, anniversaries, etc.Ensure company compliance on all federal and state programs including OSHA logs, minimum wage poster updates, federal and state poster updatesContinued education and knowledge of Human Resource policies/procedures and Federal/State lawsHealth benefit plan research, maintenance, and administration, including the enrollment process and Premium Only Plan complianceProcess weekly agency payroll hours and submit to respective agencies. Complete hours for company biweekly payroll and submit to Accountant for processingUpdate and maintain appropriate Pandora music selectionsMay assist with or perform special projects as needed or assigned by managementQualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in the Human Resources fieldMinimum five years of employee relations and training experience or related HR/Management experience, PHR Certification desiredKnowledge of Federal and State Employment Law; ability to read and interpret Federal Government Laws and RegulationsSuperior customer service and interpersonal skillsExcellent active listening and comprehension skillsDemonstrates sensitivity; including development of collaborative approach to resolve issuesAbility to remain calm and demonstrate flexibility in high pressure situationsStrong decision making ability and ability to exercise judgment based on core valuesAbility to maintain confidentialityExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong organizational skillsExtreme attention to detailDependable; Attendance as per company policy expectationsTeam Player/Team BuilderAbility to determine when assistance is needed and request it from Vice PresidentSkills and Experience: Computer skills in Windows, Word, Excel, and OutlookManufacturing experience preferredWerner Paddles, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer.Job Type: Full-timeBenefits:Dental insuranceEmployee discountHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offRetirement planVision insuranceSchedule:Monday to FridayEducation:High school or equivalent (Preferred)Experience:Human resources: 5 years (Preferred)Work Location: One location
