AssistantWe are looking for a highly motivated & flexible individual who will be the liaison with our front-line staff and Management. This is an “entry level” position, that will be trained on the job with an experienced Compliance Officer. The successful candidate will be able to accept ownership for effectively & understandably communicating with co-workers.Reports To: Compliance Officer (CO)Department: AdministrationClassification: Non-Exempt Note: Statements included in this description are intended to reflect, in general, the duties and responsibilities of this position and are not to be intended as being all inclusive. Nothing in this job description is intended to be and nothing in it should be construed to be a contract of employment, expressed or implied.Primary Purpose of Job: Assists the Compliance Officer with compliance requirements & fraud issues, within the Credit Union; Answers phone calls, filing, reviews various reports and makes suggestions for action to the Compliance Officer, (CO) among other duties as assigned.Duties and Responsibilities: Learn about the Compliance requirements that the Credit Union must follow;Help CO with review of Maintenance reports on a daily basis;Assist CO with all internal compliance requirements;Assist with Fraud and Risk Management for the Credit Union;Learn what Dormant accounts are and what regulations we must follow;Learn and help CO monitor and update Policies and Procedures on all Regulations, and review Marketing material for compliance requirements;Help with viewing security procedures in all branches. Report any concerns;Become a member of the Compliance Council for Credit Unions;Assist CO with various “Internal Audits”;Customer/Member service is a critical responsibility;Having the maturity and good conscience to work with co-workers in a respectful, helpful and understanding way, basically great communication skills;Regular attendance is an essential requirement for this position;Part of this Assistant position is teaching the front-line staff, on how to fill out various forms correctly and completely;This position has many paths for advancements & certifications and once trained, the EE will be offered opportunities for various certifications and growth, within this department.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities desired: Typically, 2 years, of banking experience for this position at entry level, but not required. High school diploma or working toward it, or equivalent. Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work successfully with co-workers in a frequently busy environment. Employees of GNWFCU must possess mobility and stamina to work in a standard office setting. Employees must be able to use standard office equipment. Part of the job requirements may include the need to sit or stand for long periods of time.
