Job Description : ENTOMOLOGY LAB TECHNICIANAg Metrics Group (formerly Pacific Ag Group) has been a leading American agricultural consulting and contract research organization for over 40 years. Our national research team is comprised of scientists, technicians, and crop consultants that specialize in field and laboratory investigations for the fruit, vegetable and field crop industries. We focus on solving crop production challenges through advanced diagnostics, focused experimentation, and testing new crop production technologies for a diverse clientele.This role is with the Entomology team at Pacific Ag Research in San Luis Obispo, California. The position involves working in the insectary on bioassays, small field trials conducting insect counts, and assisting Field Biologists in a variety of research related activities.ResponsibilitiesWork with entomology team to execute laboratory, greenhouse, and field research on pest and beneficial arthropodsCollect samples and record data for entomology experimentsUtilize knowledge of arthropod biology to construct assays for testing efficacy of novel pesticides against arthropodsMaintain multiple colonies of pest arthropods for controlled entomological testingManage greenhouse propogation to provide plant material for entomological needsPrepare and apply pesticide mixtures for research purposesQualifications and RequirementsBachelor’s of Science in Entomology, Biology, Plant Science, or a related disciplineResearch experience requiredKnowledge of arthropod biology and life cycles is criticalComfortable working outdoorsWilling to work occasional overtime and weekendsCandidates with previous insectary experience preferredCompensation: Company offers Medical and Dental Insurance, paid vacation and sick leave, 401K and Profit-Sharing, paid travel for approved professional training and meetings, and other benefits.Pay commensurate with experience and skills.Job Type: Full-timeBenefits:401(k)Dental insuranceHealth insurancePaid time offSchedule:8 hour shiftMonday to FridayOvertimeWeekend availabilityApplication Question(s):Do you have a Bachelor’s of Science in Entomology, Biology, Plant Science, or a related discipline?Do you have research experience?Are you authorized to work in the United States without employer Visa sponsorship?Education:Bachelor’s (Required)Work Location: One location
