Position : Warehouse/Driver Helper
Job Description : Drive a light reefer box truck vehicle or cargo van, with a capacity of less than 26,000 pounds Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW), primarily to deliver frozen product to customers. Our territory covers Palm Beach to Miami. Driver/warehouse worker will ROTATE between managing cold storage and driving. Driver/worker must load and unload vehicle. Driver/worker must be able to organize freezer, pull/pick product and load vehicle in organized fashion. Driver/worker must have very good sense of direction and experience with receiving from Hotels, country clubs, and restaurants. Driver must speak English. Driver must have CLEAN and VALID drivers license. We will run driving record before hired so please do not respond to this ad if this does not apply. Warehouse work includes: Move product using palette jack, stock, or other materials to and from storage or staging areas, load trucks/delivery vehicles, unload containers using palette jack, tractors, or other equipment. Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments that need to be completed. This job is suited for someone that wakes up early (5am) and is usually done in the earlier afternoon.Driving/Warehouse Tasks:* Obey traffic laws and follow established traffic and transportation procedures.* Inspect and maintain vehicle supplies and equipment, such as gas, oil, water, tires, lights, or brakes, to ensure that vehicles are in proper working condition.* Report any mechanical problems encountered with vehicles.* Present bills and receipts and collect payments for goods delivered or loaded.* Load and unload trucks, vans, or automobiles.* Verify the contents of inventory loads against shipping papers.* Turn in receipts and money received from deliveries.* Maintain records, such as vehicle logs, records of cargo, or billing statements, in accordance with regulations.* Read maps and follow written or verbal geographic directions.* Report delays, accidents, or other traffic and transportation situations to bases or other vehicles, using telephones or mobile two-way radios.Warehouse tasks:Solid experience with pallet jacks, being able to maneuver product in cold storage, constant turning of product, knowledge of FIFO, Forklift a plus, picking/pulling product, etc.Our drivers must be personable, we are looking for candidates that possess people skills and handle product professionally.Job Type: Full-timePay: $18.00 – $20.00 per hourBenefits:Flexible schedulePaid time offSchedule:10 hour shift8 hour shiftMonday to FridayWeekend availabilitySupplemental Pay:Bonus payEducation:High school or equivalent (Preferred)Experience:Driving: 1 year (Preferred)Language:English (Preferred)License/Certification:Driver’s License (Preferred)Work Location: One location
