Position : VP of Engineering
Job Description : IDEAL CANDIDATEGrubbrr is looking for an experienced VP of Engineering to lead the development of the world-class software for Grubbrr’s platform of products. This leader must intimately understand the development of software products for SaaS functionality in an agnostic fashion across various hardware and OS environmentsKey Responsibilities:Translate CTO Product vision to actionable, measurable projects with defined scope, schedule and cost.Lead engineering development schedules, planning, and coordination to migrate Grubbrr’s portfolio of software products to a scaleable, modular architecture that supports easy integrations to support payment processing, loyalty, customer dashboard and more.Work closely with Sales, Product and Operations Teams to deliver world-class products to Grubbrr Customers.Growing an engineering team by attracting world-class talent as well as aiding the continued growth of the existing team members.Align various Product Owners and iteration teams to streamline product development and communication preferably in a formalized Agile Scrum methodology.Conducts or acquires cost analysis for development projects; prepares or delegates preparation of schedule of project completion dates.Ensures that projects are completed within budget and schedule.Implements the strategic direction of the company’s engineering and development initiatives.Identifies, recommends, and implements new technologies and systems to improve organizational processes and decision-making.Ensures that departmental decisions such as staffing, development, organization, hardware acquisitions, and facilities are in line with the organization’s business plan and vision.Establishes, communicates, and implements engineering and development policies, practices, standards, and security measures to ensure effective and consistent operations.Establishes and administers the department’s budget.Maintains knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in engineering and development related to the organizations industry.Skills Desired:A track record of developing software optimized for a global SaaS business model.Experience with PoS, Payment Processing, or other software applications relevant to the Quick Serve Restaurant and/or Retail market.Experience leading teams on and offshore.Experience scaling software development teams rapidly.Drive predictability within software development projects.Interest in and ability to drive outcomes at a startup.Leadership and CultureFoster a positive team culture across disparate engineering teams.Cares deeply about the customer experience and quality of results.Clear communicator and collaborator: can contribute to direction with the exec team and effectively implement within the engineering organization.Track record of supporting career development as evidenced by promotions, and managing people out when appropriateHas a framework for inspiring a team of engineers with consistent feedbackStakeholder/owner of Grubbrr Core Values.About UsWe’re cool (Hello Captain Obvious!)No rules, well okay flexible rulesOwnership – be an entrepreneur & get equity w/out taking all the riskWe hire talented people, so you won’t be micromanaged.Dress for success in your own personal style – shorts and flip flops will doWe like to experiment – not afraid to failMentorship and hyper-fast-track career growthVery cool office in South FL complete with an indoor Basketball Court & Zen Garden – 6 miles from beautiful beaches.Ping Pong & Pizza is not culture!
