Position : Assistant Terminal Manager
Job Description : We are seeking an Assistant Terminal Manager in our Jersey City, NJ Intermodal Rail Facility to support the Terminal Manager with oversight of the day-to-day operations, ensuring timely delivery of daily service requirements, the ATM works with the TM to instruct and supervise a team of Intermodal operations personnel. The individual must possess strong communication skills to manage, motivate, and collaborate with team members.The ATM is responsible for supporting the TM by acting as a liaison between staff and local management. The role requires the individual to understand and enforce the applicable policies and procedures, as well as to ensure compliance with safety regulations.The scope of the ATM duties includes the following procedures and tasks:· Oversee staff scheduling, including work assignments and rotations, employee vacations and breaks, overtime assignment, back up for absent employees, and shift rotations of unionize workers· Cover Operations Manager and Terminal Manager as necessary· Assist staff in resolving complex operations problems· Ensure that Operations Managers conduct daily Safety Briefings and inform staff of shift updatesThe ATM role requires the following qualifications:· High School diploma, or equivalent· Minimum of two years’ experience working in an intermodal rail facility· Demonstrated management experience with multiple staff members, both non-union and union· Flexible schedule to allow for extended or adjusted hours as necessary· Strong ability to analyze and solve problems on an immediate basis in a stressful environment, and to implement procedural changes with minimal supervision· Strong interpersonal skills to support working as a team.· Skills to adapt to rapidly changing customer requests and requirements, seasonal variances in workload, and industry needs and requirements.· Detail-oriented work ethic, exhibiting the highest level of professional accuracy· Microsoft® Office Proficient- Word, Excel and Outlook CalendarSuccessful candidates must successfully complete the required criminal background check for issuance of an e-railsafe badge.Must possess a valid State issued driver’s licenseWe offer a very competitive pay and benefits package.Job Type: Full-timePay: $70,000.00 – $75,000.00 per yearBenefits:401(k)Dental insuranceHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offVision insuranceSchedule:8 hour shiftDay shiftHolidaysMonday to FridayNight shiftWeekend availabilityApplication Question(s):Successful Candidate must successfully pass e-railsafe background check.Education:High school or equivalent (Preferred)License/Certification:Driver’s License (Required)Work Location: One location
