Job Description : FRONT DESK ASSOCIATEREPORTS TO: FRONT DESK ASSOICATE TEAM LEADRESPONSIBLE AND ACCOUNTABLE FOR: Greeting patients at Check In and Check Out, enters demographic information and scan information into EMRObtains patient copays and other payments to post as neededMaintaining efficiently and accurately the multi-communications made in the officeAssumes the role of patient advocate and company representativeMaking every effort to remain a flexible, cooperative, and supportive member of the RGI office staffREQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE: Education: Accredited high school diplomaAbility to read, write, and perform simple mathematical functionsComputer skills and average typing speedStrong people skillsWarm and friendly demeanorTYPICAL PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS: Frequent mobility and/or sitting required for extended periods of time. Some bending, lifting, and stooping requiredFull range of body motion, including manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordinationNormal color perception and corrected visual activityManual dexterity to operate keyboard, calculator, and photocopierInvolvement with coworkers, management, physicians, staff, hospital personnel, and patients. Occasional high stress work may require dealing with angry, demanding patients and/or personnelTYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Clean environment in a gastroenterology physicians’ officeDUTIES AND TASKS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: GENERALKeeps all patient information, practice information, and staff information strictly confidentialPerforms routine work under general supervisionFollows established procedures, referring all new or unusual questions/concerns to Team Lead or ManagerActs as patient advocate, ensuring a setting that protects the rights of the patient and provides an atmosphere that does not compromise the patient’s physical or mental well-being, safety, or dignityDemonstrates knowledge of HIPPA, OSHA, and Fire Safety measuresMaintains knowledge of, and complies with established policies and proceduresAttends all required meetingsSPECIFICGreets visitors and gives assistance in the preparation of forms relating to patient information, medical data, and insurance coverageEnters appropriate patient demographic information into Electronic Medical Record applicationsScans documents into patients EMR as neededObtains copays and other payments associated with patient account balances or preps to post as needed or hands in payment to a Medical Billing Specialist to be postedSchedules appointments for office visitsCheck obituaries and reports death status to Epic in absence of Team LeaderPerforms a variety of miscellaneous tasks as required by the practice and managementATTENDANCE AND RELIABILITY: Does not abuse or take advantage of sick time.
