Job Description : JOB TITLE: Account Payable & Accounts Receivable Specialist (Full-time) Griffin Pavement Striping, located in Columbus, Ohio. The individual in this role will collaborate and support the Accounting Manager in performing accounting duties. The individual in the position will possess the ability to process invoices and payments in a timely fashion, matching of purchasing and receiving documents, proper invoice coding to the general ledger expense accounts, timely and accurate payments that make full use of available discounts, and proper filing and storage of records.PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Process invoices from vendors and check requestsAcquire proper approval on invoicesCorrespond with vendors and respond to inquiriesCall vendors for invoices, change of address, invoice discrepanciesPost and cut checks from the accounting system weeklyUpload checks into Huntington Bank Positive Pay and resolve positive pay issuesReconcile and resolve issues with AP sub-ledger to the general ledgerReconcile vendor statements and resolve outstanding issues with vendorsAssist in month end closingEnsure W-9 forms are on file for all vendorsPrepare 1099 forms each yearWork with the GL team and operations to resolve AP issuesMaintain vendor relationshipsWork with operations to complete vendor applications and credit referencesProcess employee expense reimbursements and uphold the employee travel policyAssist the Accounting Manager with external auditTrain backup for key responsibilities so duties are covered while on vacationA/R – Post invoices to the general ledgerA/R – Post payments to the invoicesMaintain inventory accounts, tracking usage and purchasesMaintenance of raw material delivery paperwork and corresponding material certificationsPerform other duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.1-3 years prior A/P, Administrative or other Accounting Experience preferredIntermediate Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook ExperienceFamiliarity with the Construction industry is a plusMust be familiar with accounting software.
