Position : Director, Admissions Operations and Processing
Job Description : Provide leadership and management of the Admissions Office in areas of undergraduate and graduate application operations and processing. Responsible for leading and supervising staff to achieve efficient and effective processing of application materials to support enrollment goals. Maintain effective partnerships with academic colleges to admit an academically prepared and diverse student population. Reports to Associate Vice President of Enrollment Management, Admissions.

Examples of Duties:
Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following:
Develop and implement plans and strategies for the effective administration of undergraduate and graduate student applications consistent with the University’s enrollment plan.
Manage the daily operation of the Admissions Office including the development and monitoring of office services, supervision of staff, and development of recruitment activities; develop and monitor office services.
Supervise and coordinate staff activities; provide training for staff members; distribute projects and assignments to meet department goals and objectives; provide continuous performance feedback to staff members; prepare performance reviews; establish staff development goals.
Plan and implement strategies for effective communication of admission policies and procedures; monitor and report corresponding results; review admission policies for consistency, accuracy, clarity, and appropriateness.
Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with academic units and administrative offices to enhance the attainment of enrollment goals.
Collaborate with Kent State Information Technology and the Admissions Operations and Systems unit to enhance the utilization of automation in the admissions process, customer relationship management (CRM) software, and imaging systems.
Provide leadership of a small department, unit, or major function and direct supervision over unclassified employees.
Represent the AVP Enrollment Management, Admissions at professional meetings and in university committees as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s degree in higher education or a relevant field. Five years progressively responsible experience in admissions.
License/Certification:
Knowledge Of:
High-level and detailed understanding of integrated systems and software (i.e., CRM software and MS Office Suite) *
Family Education Rights and Privacy Act *
Skill In:
Verbal, written and interpersonal communication *
Analysis, problem solving and project management *
Ability To:
Work closely with and demonstrate sensitivity to individuals with diverse backgrounds
Provide exemplary leadership and direction to the department
Support the goals and initiatives of the AVP Enrollment Management, Admissions
Stay current with changing Kent State Admissions policies and procedures

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:
Light work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently to move objects. Incumbent must be able to communicate with others. Incumbent may be required to travel from building to building frequently and off campus occasionally.
