Location : Chillicothe, OH
Position : Spec Billing- Full time -Fully Remote (after training) 90%-36 hours per week
Job Description : The Billing Specialist is responsible for the handling and reviewing of claims for appropriateness, correcting claims as necessary and accurately submitting claims in a timely manner. The Billing Specialist encounters confidential organization and patient information. There is some direct patient contact involved with the position.
Duties/Responsibilities
Prepares claims on a daily basis and electronically submits claims to all major payers for prompt reimbursement.
Responsible for printing errors, reviewing rejections and correcting all claims.
Corrects paper and electronic claims with errors and ensures that proper attachments are provided with paper claims.
Review and resubmit claims that reject during the electronic transmission process.
Fulfill rebill requests.
Update existing edits and input new edits as payer billing requirements change.
Provide management with reporting that assists in ensuring that claim volumes are appropriate and timely submission occurs.
Ensures that the clearinghouse receives all claims generated by the Meditech and Systoc system.
Minimum/Required Qualifications and Experience
High School Diploma or GED
1-2 years of hospital or physician billing experience
Previous Meditech experience
Preferred Qualifications and Experience
Working knowledge of healthcare claims processing
