Position : DISTRICT Assistant Director, K-12 Professional Development_OAO
Job Description : There will be an Assistant Director, K-12 Professional Development position(s) available within the Olentangy Local School District for the 2022-2023 school year. The Assistant Director, K-12 Professional Development provides leadership of the professional learning program in the district; identify, develop, implement, and evaluate provisions of professional development resources to impact district Continuous Improvement Plan (CIP). Assist the Curriculum Department in working with the Board of Education, administrative team, staff, parents, community groups, and professional organizations. Implement and maintain excellent educational programs to fulfill the mission and vision of the district.
Qualifications for the position include: a Master’s degree or higher; Ohio Administrative Certificate and/or Administrative Specialist License; and, five years of administrative experience preferred. Alternative to the above qualifications as the superintendent and/or board of education may find appropriate.
Essential functions: assist in the formulation of a philosophy and objectives for the instructional program; coordinate development of curriculum and professional development and evaluate same; study, evaluate, and, recommend adoption of new textbooks, teaching aids, materials, and programs to improve instruction; provide teachers with counsel and assistance toward the solution of instructional problems; coordinate textbook and resource selection; and, creates and implements Professional Development for the certified staff.
