Position : Plant Manager
Job Description : Freeman Company located in Fremont, OH has an exciting opportunity for a Plant Manager. The Plant Manager is responsible for the management and coordination of daily activities to always ensure high performance and production. Other duties include direction of supervisory staff, execution of the daily manufacturing schedule, quality, performance monitoring and reporting, efficiency improvements, procedures, monitor plant equipment and ensure that they’re in good working order, and resource planning with an emphasis on driving our safety culture.

We design, build, and test our own tooling and deliver continuous improvement with each new tool we build.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and communicate daily plans to help Operations run smoothly. Meet daily manufacturing schedules while ensuring the quality of all output.
Collaborate with production scheduling to ensure required resources are available to department personnel and proper coverage is in place to meet customers’ demand.
Scheduling and approve work hours/shifts for all department personnel to meet manufacturing requirements.
Effectively manage department costs including overtime.
Assist in recruiting efforts, employee retention, development, and training.
Manage shop floor supervision including disciplinary actions of department personnel.
Evaluate employees and communicate clear expectations that will drive continuous improvement.
Ensure performance goals are established and met for scrap/rework, labor efficiencies, and on time deliveries.
Working with processing department, set clear expectations for equipment set-up times and utilization rates and continually monitor and drive improvements in these metrics.
Manage Maintenance personnel to ensure PM schedules are being routinely performed for optimal equipment up-time.
Lead all department personnel to achieve targeted goals as established by Executive Management.
Champion/Driver of lean manufacturing and continuous improvements. Collect and review data to improve inefficiencies, and waste.
Develop and maintain continuous improvement objectives related to implementing and maintaining quality systems and exceeding customer requirements.
Working with processing department, establish process standards and ensure they are documented and adhered to.
On-going review of quality system to ensure procedures, work instructions and general practices are active, working, and being adhered to.
Oversee daily Operations to ensure a safe working environment. Enforcement of safety rules and policies, always ensuring a safe and clean plant environment.
Compliance to applicable Federal and State laws and regulations.
Other duties or tasks as assigned or required.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of a 4-year technical degree or 5 years of equivalent work experience in a manufacturing environment
A minimum of 2 years of people management experience
Proficient in lean manufacturing and/or Six Sigma
Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system experience preferred
ISO system experience preferred
Project management experience desired
A minimum requirement for this position is the ability to work legally in the United States on a permanent basis. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position.
