Position : MIS Specialist 2/Network Administrator

Job Description : **Please include prior employment contact information**60% Monitors all computer activities for proper working order and to configure for optimal performance; Monitors and controls all network activity including phone system, county to state connectivity, county to county, and public access network; analyze and develop solutions for networking multiple sites: Applies both routine and technical maintenance to state networking equipment i.e. Microsoft servers, switches, firewalls and routers and applies upgrades and service pack to county document imaging server as well as public network and all virtualized servers. Responsible for suggesting solutions for OneStop partner connectivity and implementing design decisions approved by upper level supervision. Is Domain Administrator and SQL OBA.Manages licensures for all JFS MIS activities. Troubleshoot and resolve all network related issues; Obtain quotes and coordinate activities with vendors.20% System analyst, designs and develops information system solutions for agency administrators; analyzes current business processes for efficiency, quality & overall functionality and offer solutions. Maintains and upgrades custom written information systems with emphasis on Document Imaging software. Prepares reports for departmental heads regarding projects and data mines for abstract information upon request by Director or department head. Maintains and administers virtual network using VMWare.10% Supervises information specialist and helpdesk; trains staff; reports progress of MIS projects to superiors, and outside stakeholders i.e. state and county MIS staff: Technical point of contact for state network associates, county data processing & for all information systems related vendors. Maintains all data backup and restores. Documents Network and MIS procedures.10% Performs security tasks such as folder access rights and server logon accounts;Researches security investigations regarding use of digital equipment or when digital equipment can be used to assist in investigation when initiated by upper level management.5% Attends trainings and meetings as needed to stay current with emerging technologies.Exhibits regular attendance.Inherently hazardous or physically demanding working conditions: Environmentally controlled work setting. Involves physical effort at the level normally found in office work.
