Position : Safety Coordinator

Job Description : The Safety Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating the Company’s safety programs. The company is often providing construction services within the facilities of major industrial concerns and adherence to customer specific safety requirements is critical. The Safety Coordinator will work with our Branch Managers, Construction Superintendents, and union laborers to ensure uniform and complete commitments to safe working conditions.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITESThis list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local safety laws, regulations, codes and rules.Train, motivate, and monitor employees and management in safe practices including: Hazardous Communications, bloodborne pathogens, respirator use, lock-out/tag-out, forklift operation, fire protection, and safe lifting.Develop and maintain safety systems, policies, and procedures.Administer Personal Protective Equipment programs to ensure proper training, usage, and maintenance.Inspects facilities, machinery, equipment, and personnel practices to identify potential safety and health concerns and hazards.Work closely with the Construction Offices to ensure project safety and training is in place and prepare safety related input for bid proposals and attend bid meetings when necessary.Conducts accident investigation and provides recommendations to prevent reoccurrence.Work with Branch Managers and Human Resources to review and accommodate employees on restricted duty.Is a steward of Plibrico’s Purpose, Mission, Vision, and Core Values.Adheres to environmental and safety regulations and acts in accordance with United States’ laws.Adheres to corporate policy on business ethics.An individual in this position must be able to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities listed above.
