Position : Special Agent III (Statewide)
Job Description : Under general supervision, the Special Agent III conducts complex criminal and administrative investigations of suspected violations of state laws and insurance regulations. In addition, provides professional level support directly to the Criminal Investigations Division of the Office of Commissioner of Insurance and Safety Fire.
JOB SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Interviews victims, witnesses, and suspects.
Trains new Agents in the performance of their duties and responsibilities.
Serves subpoenas and obtains documents relating to criminal and administrative investigations.
Works in close cooperation with insurance company Fraud Investigators.
Conducts surveillance and perform undercover investigations.
Serves as Subject Matter Expert and Training Instructor for the Division.
Obtains and serves arrest warrants, and search warrants in cooperation with local law enforcement agencies and district attorneys.
Documents all activity and prepare detail written reports, testify in all court hearings and assist state and local prosecutors.
Works in close cooperation and provide assistance to local, state, and federal agencies as part of their insurance fraud and related criminal investigations.
Conducts research to compile information needed to generate reports, complete projects and accurately respond to questions and concerns.
Attends training sessions as required to gain skills and knowledge.
Effectively manages a caseload.
Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university AND P.O.S.T. certification AND Three years of experience required at the lower level Special Agent 2 (PSP101) or position equivalent.
